There are rumors Dark Souls III will use the Denuvo anti-tamper software, thoughts? How would you guys feel about it if it's true?

PC gaming is already dead

>There are rumors
Let me guess. Some thread on /v/ claiming it's got Denuvo?

You guys will believe anything.
>>
>>329711424
I only use cheat tables to change my character physique and phantom color.
The game doesn't have soul memory, so who cares?
>>
>>329711424
I'm an adult with spare income. I can afford to buy the games I want. So I don't care if it's true.
>>
>>329711695
Do I have to explain to you what are rumors? Literally what people talk to others, there's no source or any way to confirm, but it's still a possibility.
Also I'm not going through pages and pages of NeoGAF threads to find it.
>>
If it does that means I'll be far more wary about my purchase.
Luckily if for some reason it doesn't work well on my machine, I'll just refund it through steam.
I don't pirate many games unless they're old, or I'm uncertain of whether I'll like them before I decide to buy.
>>
>>329711806
>children actually believe this
>>
>>329711806
Adults don't let corporations hoodwink them out of control over games they've paid for.

No there aren't. Fuck off.

they are just overgrown children

I don't think Denuvo stops Cheat Engine from properly working, hacking has been going rampart on MGSV since release and that game has Denuvo.
>>
>>329712154
If cheat engine guys can reverse engineer the game to tell what to change, why can't crackers?
>>
Reminder that you can't mod the game if it's got Denuvo.

Performance patches, weapon and armor skins, ENB's. Nothing.
>>
>>329712025
>>329712085
People said the same about MGSV and got BTFO, pirates are in full delusion mode I see.
>>
>>329711424

\without piracy i might aswell move to consoles.
>>
>>329712282
Because Cheat Engine just modifies the memory used by the game, not the exe itself, that's why you have to start Cheat Engine everytime you start the game, otherwise the cheats would stay on permanently.
>>
I heard Goku is gonna be in Dark Souls 3 too.
>>
>>329712154
Oh fuck never mind. I forgot what Denuvo was. I just woke up.
>>
I own a PS4 and will buy it on that. It is meaningless to me.
>>
>>329712430
Here's an idea: crackers should have an exe you run that alters the steamapi in memory so denuvo cannot stop it from being altered
>>
>>329712690
You have such immense knowledge in coding.
Dear lord kill yourself.it would rid us of your stupidity/trolling
>>
>>329712297
Thank god it got a crack like 5 days later.

I got blown the fuck out after checking torrents for like 2 hours after midinight release and then finding out it had denuvo.
>>
>>329712928
>Thank god it got a crack like 5 days later.

Yeah but it didn't get properly cracked, the crack is unstable as fuck and crashes the game every 5 minutes, and they haven't updated it further. I'd rather pay 60 bucks than to have to play the game in that state.
>>
so how do we get the cheapest preorder price?

There is no discount in the namco page for me.

>>329713173
cdkeys.com

Thought the price is much higher now, should have bought it when it was 30 bucks.

PC gaming is dying. The writing is on the wall. W10 will enforce one single MS-controlled store. Denuvo will kill modding as we know it. PC is turning into a console that runs games 60 fps.
>>
>>329713173
Wait for the GMG VIP discount
>>
>>329713156
>the crack is unstable as fuck and crashes the game every 5 minutes, and they haven't updated it further
That would explain how I put 100 hours in the game with no sudden crashes.
You're mixing it up with the madmax crack, this one only gets looped up at the end of the prologue and mission 46. Both loops can be bypassed.

It's not optimal but it's what we've got.
>>
>>329713474
>PC is turning into a console that runs games 60 fps.
Implying most PC games run at a stable 60 fps these days. It's like they've forgotten how to optimize games.
>>
>>329713474
MS can't stop Valve from having it's own store though, if they do they'll get fucked in the ass and people will go back to older systems, or even switch to Linux. No gamer will ever trust them after GFWL.
>>
>>329713630
That too. Denuvo is already a performance killer and with bigger demands from MS for Xbone parity, we'll see more games like Gears of War where a 970 gets similar benchmarks as the fucking Xbone.

If it works for cheat engine it should work for the DRM denuvo is trying to protect
>>
>>329713642
Even games on Steam are going to be more and more riddled with cancerous Denuvo DRM. Denuvo is mod poison. The devs of the JC2 MP mod said that Denuvo is blocking them from doing the same for JC3. Something like DSFix is not possible with Denuvo. People eat this shit up so easily it's almost that we deserve being fucked in the ass. By end of this year, if Denuvo isn't cracked, expect most major publishers to release their games with the DRM.
>>
>>329711424
I don't really give a shit since I'm buying it on PS4 anyway.
>>
PC doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. It's just where theydrop console ports after they made the bulk of their sales on consoles.

Hasn't only 6 games sold more than a million units on PC according to that guy running steamspy? A million sales is pretty much nothing on consoles, whereas on PC it's a feat.

No wonder devs don't even care to optimize games. Mustards always say they flop due to poor optimization, lack of fov sliders etc, but then you have Dragon's Dogma, which is by far the best port I've ever seen (4k 60 fps on a mere 970) with fov slider and whatnot and the thing flopped in astronomical proportions.

It's also the reason why a decade ago you had actual pc-centric developers as much as you had console-centered ones. The platforms were very distinct. Nowadays PC gaming is a glorified console-gaming-on-a-monitor with better performance at the cost of an absolutely AWFUL community filled with hackers that ruin the majority of the online experiences. It's only worth anything for single player games and people don't care to buy those since there's no benefit over piracy.

Nowadays there isn't a single high profile project on the PC scene and everybody is flocking to kickstarter because devs no longer trust the platform enough to not be paid beforehand. And even then most of them just run away with the money and/or are obvious scams, such as Star Citizen.
>>
>>329713862
After the shit they pulled with SotFS edition being a separate game?

They don't deserver shit. That stunt was worse than EA.
>>
>>329711424
Who cares if you are going to buy the game? Denuvo doesn't have any negative effects.

Souls games are really not worth pirating because the co-op and PvP is great.
>>
>>329713950
why do you post this in every pc gaming thread
>>
>>329713942
What the fuck weren't we talking about the MS store?
>>
>>329713979
>Denuvo doesn't have any negative effects.
This fucking faggot. I would shit down your throat if I could. Shit like DSFix that completely fixed the shitty DaS port is not possible with Denuvo.

Cocksucker.
>>
>>329711424

I'd feel pretty good cause I'll likely buy it on xbone
>>
>>329713979
>>Denuvo doesn't have any negative effects.

well i hope it doesnt have denuvo.

after paying twice for dks2 I sure will wait for a price drop before buying

meanwhile will play the pirated version

I refuse to by any game with Denuvo. It speeds up HDD degradation from rotational velocidensity and shortens the lifespan by several years.

>>329714293
it doesn't

Yeah it also increases the hyperthermal gigagauge odometers, so it can't calculate the amount of nanobytes needed to process the engines inputs

source on this claim?

Don't be absurd anon, you'd need something like a quaterra defragger to even remotely harm it.
>>
>>329714324
This is when I realized that no matter the hardware, incompetent devs will always remain cancerous. Nvidia and AMD must be paying them well to optimize just enough so you can reach 60 fps on high-end gear.

I have been playing Denuvo games for a long time now. Had 0 problems with my HDD or anything.

Denuvo only prevents modding, which you are not going to do anyway because Souls games have online mode. You can get softbanned from Ds2 if you mod the game in any way.

"Denuvo is bad" meme needs to stop. The only people that should worry about Denuvo are filthy piretefags, NEET scums that can't afford measly 60$ to buy a video game.
>>
>guys it won't use the only software that has actually made crackers sweat, trust me!
Every game released by a dev with money will pay for the security.
>>
>>329713156
nope, you just miss the first tutorial/mission, 0 crashes for me

I really hope you don't pass on your genetic code, corporate cocksucker.
>>
>>329715009
Nigger it reverses the polarity of the flux coils so it effectively creates fluctuations in the gravity stream, overloading the quantum dampeners.
>>
>>329715190

>paying real money for something you can't hold or re-sell and can get for free online
>>
>>329712297
It would be announced if it was using it and namco doesn't have enough money to pay for Denuvo.

It doesn't have Denuvo.

If I turn out to be wrong I just won't buy the game.
>>
>>329715190
>Denuvo only prevents modding, which you are not going to do anyway because Souls games have online mode
Performance patches, mouse fixes, skins for armor and weapons, graphical improvements?

Yeah, fuck those things. Who wants a better gaming experience anyways.
>>
>>329715252
If what from actually says about bamco giving them mostly free reign over the game, I doubt it'll have denuvo.
>>
Its only fair $1000 PC nerds don't get to mod a game so they have parity with $300 consoles.
>>
>>329715473
>It would be announced if it was using it
That's not something that gets announced for every game, MGSV dropped without anybody knowing it would have Denuvo, I'm sure other games did aswell.

>namco doesn't have enough money to pay for Denuvo
Are you kidding? Bandai Namco is currently the second largest video game company in japan only after Nintendo.
>>
>>329715585
They're too nerdy. They should buy prebuilt PCs
>>
>>329715493
BN didn't even ask them whether they could include it or even consider asking them because that has nothing to do with the game development. See season passes.

The SotFS update with improved graphics and shuffled enemies/items was free for consoles?

I'll have to take your word on that. Seems strange to do it only to PC.
>>
>>329715863
The only thing free was the aldia boss fight and some description updates
>>

SOTFS was on PS4. They didn't pull some dumb shit like releasing the superior version on the same console as the first release. That's what happened on PC, right?
>>
i think 80 bucks for the game is way too much

maybe 30 for the new main game and 20 at most for the expansions.

why are digital games so expensive if there is no manufacturing. fucking greedy publishers.

still better than paying 80 bucks. I'm just telling him where I got it from, you can use any retailer you want.
