>tfw Alan Wake 2 will come out in your lifetime
we're gonna make it bros
Is Poets of the Fall gonna be it again?
If not? NO BUY.
Have had this game installed and on my backlog for some time. Is it really any good?
>>329706046
Of course PotF is going to be in it
>>329707427
Alan Wake is great.
>>329707427
It's a flawed game but honestly one of the comfiest I've played. If you like Stephen King and Twin Peaks you'll love it
>>329707427
Gameplay can get a bit dull, but the atmosphere and music are GOAT
The good thing is that they only have to remove invisible walls and make textures for pc first now, and they can call it The Literal Alan Wake.
>>329707596
It's like Uncharted, a "Great for one single solitary playthrough then forget it ever existed"
>tfw it'll be Windows 10 store exclusive because Remedy for some reason decided to sell their souls to Microsoft
>>329705731
About to beat it. The stories great, same with atmosphere, but its a game that has too much gameplay
>>329705731
I love Alan Wake. I know it's not perfect or anything, but you can see that it's crafted with love and soul.
>it'll end up getting butchered just like the first game

But that was literally just a tech demo. All made to demonstrate the engine on a Dev Kit.
Yeah. On Windows 10.
So no thanks.
Are you guys stupid? There were multiple new Alan wake games. They extremly sucked
>>329707710
Microsoft saved them from bankruptcy after MP2 flopped. I know it's not a great situation but at least one my favorite devs are still around today
>>329705731IT'S PAYNE!!!
>>329705731
But Alan Wake 1 was shit.
>>329708676
Payne in my butt
>>329707697
It's a finnish Silent Hill basically. Gameplay really is secondary. It could be that the dullness of the gameplay comes from constant repetition, not just repetition. There are many slow parts where there is no combat, but when there is combat, there's way too much of it, it's too easy and the same old same old. I think all the Team Silent -Silent Hill games suffer from the same problem, but to a much lesser extent. Their combat is boring shit-tier, but at least it isn't a barrage unlike Alan Wake.
>>329708724
This. I can't understand why people liked this game.
>>329705731
What the hell is the appeal of Alan Wake? the gameplay is repetitive, the environment is the same spooky forest over and over again, the story is non-sensical David Lynch wannabe bullshit
So what the fuck am I missing here?
>>329708847
I thought Silent Hill games were spoopy, Alan Wake isn't spoopy at all.
>>329708953Taste.
>>329705731
kek
>He thinks I'm not checking myself out before
>>329708953
>muh remedy
literally why i love the game
>>329707710
I'll just buy an Xbox One if it comes to that, fuck it.
Upgrading my OS for Xbone games makes no sense if it's going to break other games I payed for or pirated.
>>329708953
I liked it because it reminded me a lot of Max Payne 2, probably because it's from the same developer.
>>329708953
>>329708925
>>329708724
It's one of those niche titles like Deadly Premonition that are obviously flawed but some people find more enjoyment in the good parts than others do
>>329705731
You better not be shitting me anon;-;
>tfw you find the pages to the original ending of Max Payne's story, narrated by James McCaffrey
>>329708973
Well, Twilight Zone and japanese horror are pretty different afterall. The games just have a similar structure.
its a tv show you shits

>>329709265
Honey I'm... home
>>329709351
>linking to kotaku
Fuck off, retard.
>>329709432
source is a source faggot
you want the one in my local language instead?
>>329705731
The first game had amazing atmosphere, but the actual gameplay was lame as fuck.
Hope they get around that issue because it could really be a great game.
>>329709230
But the game isn't flawed in a technical way, and it's as polished as it could be. It offers what it offers in the best possible way. The thing is, it's not really interresting storywise or gameplaywise. It's just entertaining. A 7/10 with no wasted potential.
>>329710190
I meant flaws as in things that the audience generally considers to be the game's weak points, e.g. repetitive combat.
>>329709063
Except it doesn't
Source: I'm on windows 10 and pirate all my shit.
>>329710067
it seems to be different this time
cool gameplay and meh atmosphere due to the change of the world building mechanics
if you could reverse the object movement in time instead of it looping automatically it would definitely change the feel of the puzzles
