With Auto shop, you literally cannot.
What happens is, a prompt comes up to rotate the stick either left or right, but what happens is that the simple act of moving the stick into position to start rotating it, causes the prompt to fail since it thinks the stick is moving the wrong way. You have to know what the prompt is BEFORE it even pop up, it's fucking impossible.
Maybe the original PS2 version was better, idk, maybe the steam version just emulates the controller in a really shitty way.
