What was the video game that actually got you into gaming and does it still hold up today?
For me, I'd have to say Final Fantasy 7 or Golden Sun

Leisuresuit Larry 1. It holds up for me, but I can understand newer players think the graphics look like shit.
That said, I prefer Larry's cartoonish look from LSL5 onward.
Some space or underwater shooting game on my uncles Nokia phone. Everything was black and green so i can't tell where the hell i was but i played that game over and over again.
I played Super Mario World as a kid, but I'd say Pokemon is what seriously got me into gaming.
The games don't hold up as well overall but I don't have much of a problem going back to them every once in a while. They are heavily flawed and broken plus it's hard to recommend them to new people when there's FR/LG or even HG/SS

First game I played though was Skyfox for the Amiga, so I'll go with that.

First saw video games at a friends house, I had literally no idea games existed. This was around 1989-1993.. I think I was round 8.. not sure (it's super hazy) I practically lived outside as a kid.
Friend had an NES, later on realized he had the original Zelda and Metroid, I didn't like either, but I liked Bubble Bobble that his friend had.
But, of my own volition, I didn't get into gaming until around 1990 (for sure) when a friend had an NES and he showed me Mario.
My next encounter was a girlffriend in.. I think 3rd grade, she had Duck Hunt and Mario 1, all she wanted to do was get naked and makeout, I just wanted to play duck hunt....lol

I forget, was some fighter on the sega genesis and all I really remember was in the end the boss is some metallic dude you fight under water. Also random racing games, mortal kombat 1 and shit. But what really "got" me into game was probably Super Mario World. Game was tough for a 6 year old but it was huge and I'd just sit in the basement for hours playing that shit sitting on the smelly carpet and enjoying myself.
