PS4s ship with newer firmware. So you have to buy a brand new PS4 from before late 2014. Any PS4 made in late 2014 and afterwards comes out of the box with newer firmware that has the exploit patched out. So be prepared to pay out the ass for old firmware PS4s.

As someone who didn't read about PS1 and PS2 piracy on a wiki, and instead actually lived through that time period and experienced piracy myself, I know what I'm saying. Piracy and sales are different for different regions, and when you are talking about what is common or rare, you need to be talking about either the US, Japan, or actually state where you are talking about. This isn't the mentality that only the US matters, but rather being based on where a majority of consoles are sold.

Japan still is still off limits for xbox but europe was always Sonyland and while the ps3 was getting wrekt in the US it was doing decently in Europe
And as far I know, mostly through my dad, uncles and older friends vidya and piracy always went hand in hand because of pc and stuff like Amiga 500, and Commodore 64
My dad got me those 3 consoles and he always took care of those things like modchips, and downloading and burning cds. Or he bought them from the nigger selling the butned cds for 5000£. I learned all that stuff much later
Everyone I knew had a modded console, everyone until the ps3 which some people bought before cfw was a thing there
I also lived in the US from '03 to '05 and of the 2 guys that played games, one of them was a Korean guy with a modded xbox, and an American that had a modded xbox and a pc

So a 1.7 firmware that's cracked and hacked can be spoofed to imitate that of 3.15
