Nvidia has no say on whether a game has tessellation or not (unless the game uses Gameworks, but this game doesn't). And their drivers don't turn on tessellation on every game so that they would be able to do what you're saying. I don't know if this game has tessellation or not but Nvidia wasn't involved I don't think. And it makes perfect sense that newer cards would be better at tessellation so older cards struggling when even lower tier cards form the next generation isn't something that should even get a second look.

They should, I agree, but your point isn't about tessellation as I can't think of a single game that doesn't let you turn off tessellation. Even in TW3 where there was that whole shitstorm about the tessellation in Hairworks, you could just turn it off, or I think you might have even been able to turn it off in the files.
My point however is that people are retarded for thinking there's some shady scheme going on causing older cards to have trouble with tessellation. It isn't that strange as newer cards will obviously be better at things even if specs wise they're not as powerful.

The original actually does look better. The original wasn't all brown and bloom, more like grey and white. The remaster gives the game nothing but washed out textures and terrible color on everything. The original was much more crisp in the visual department and everything stood out.
