If it bombs, it will be due to marketing and stigma. Nothing to do with games themselves. In fact, high console sales of any kind pretty much are only due to popularity/novelty and not the actual games.

I don't think Nintendo has made most of their components or assembled their systems in Japan since Gamecube.
To be honest, I think I'd rather have a portable console, not a legitimate handheld [with a screen attached] that plugs into a larger television/monitor.
What I mean by "portable console" is sort of what Nintendo was trying to do with the Gamecube and the handle. Make a small, light, compact, quiet, and energy efficient console that can be brought around easily but still plays like a true console. The wireless HDMI would allow you to basically pick whatever screen you had available.
