Anyone else looking forward to this? I think it has some potential. With Harada having worked on it, I think it can flourish easier as a competitive game since the developer actually ENCOURAGES competitive play, unlike Sakurai, who actively called its competitive players "maniacs". Also, Harada seemed to do the whole "can be played by newbies and pros" without fucking either players.
I just hope they do actually add 4 more Pokemon in the future.

Naw, Pokemon in itself is pretty stupid and a tired brand, making a fighting game based on it is even worst.
Considering its not even close to being popular in Japan (to the point cabinets being removed/relocated) I doubt it will be much of a game worth more than a rent even for a Pokemon fan.

Cabinets are unprofitable not necessarily because of the popularity, but because one credit can last you an extremely long amount of time. This was why Gradius 3 was so much more difficult than Gradius 2.

The case I mentioned concerned Japan specifically. Players could last a very long time in Gradius 2, so Konami made Gradius 3 ballustingly difficult to munch quarters and help arcade owners with profits. One of the problems Pokken faces is that yeah, few credits can land you very long play sessions which is really bad when trying to cover operating expenses.
