Expshare is fine if you rotate your team constantly using different pokemon, works well for xy with its diversity not too much in oras.

XY had potential but was ultimately disappointing. A low number of new Pokémon that don't really feel better than the usual crop (with Chespin's evolutions being especially disappointing), low level Pokémon during the story despite the EXP share being overpowered, lag because they made Pokémon models too detailed for the 3DS, even when environment textures suck the big one... Gen VI isn't a step forward that's for sure.

Well it's a Nuzlocke, so depending on what you get will influence how hard of a time you'll have in the future.
For example, in my run, I found nothing but flying, normal and 1 fire type pokemon in my run, and thus had a hard as fuck time against the second gym leader. Then, after making it through mirror mother fucking cave, I had fuck all to deal with Korina.
X&Y is the first Nuzlocke of the official games I've ever lost.
I beat it of course, on my second try, but it's legitimately tough, especially if you're playing with the no potions in battle rule.
None of the other mainline games come close to being as tough as X&Y as far as Nuzlockes go.

Gen 6 was my first since 2 and it blew my mind how easy it was. Pokemon was never hard but the game just gives everything to you. I think a random villager even gave me a Pokemon at one point. I still had fun with it, just surprised that they made it even more beginner friendly than it already was.

Trainer pokémon have low levels, so Froakie wrecked the early game. Chespin might be a tougher start since gym 1 is bug-type, but it still felt among the easier titles with the basic rules.

I liked BW's atmosphere better to be honest. It was neat that BW2 showed what happened to the region 2 years after BW and actually continued the story, but the events themselves felt too tacked on. I guess having another evil team fuck around with the same region would be too much, but the Team Plasma plot line really didn't require a follow up, it ended just fine.

By Pokemon standards, Gen V has the best plot by far, even if it doesn't mean anything in a larger scale. It's OST is also fantastic.

In Black and White you only have gen 5 Pokémon available. No safe reliable options like Oddish or Gyarados are available so you need to catch a Pokémon and train it up to see if you like it. Black2 White2 brings back older mons for the main story if that makes you anxious.

Reuniclus is objectively one of the best designs in the whole series. Whimsicott, Darmanitan, Samurott, and Cofagrigus are some other top tier designs. Most Unova mons are great, really. Nothing can come as low as the shitfest that is Gen IV.
