Having a tool to produce music, doesn't mean you have the skill to compose it. Toby has a background in music, and has been composing tracks for quite a while.
Game Maker still requires a modicum of coding knowledge if you want to do anything. Which, again, Toby already had practice with, because he dabbled with making game mods. Producing *finished* fan games.
The writing is actually fairly complex. When you look behind the spaghetti jokes, the plot's whole meta bullshit, complicates things. Add to that a bit of time travel, and you have to potential for a fucking contradiction filled mess. YET, somehow he plotted all the events perfectly, so no events conflict with each other. And there is a fairly large web of complex contexts, creating many possibilities. All of which, are addressed. The attention to detail is amazing.
