Fallout 4 made it obvious what a huge brick wall that "200 years after the war" bit is to the plot. Todd is trying to work around it or just handwave it, but it's stretched so far in FO4 that you wonder why they don't just fucking retcon the date of the war, or stop having pre-war survivors in the post-post apocalypse.

At least NV had stuff like Boone going nuclear whenever he sees someone from the Legion and making a based one liner when killing Caesar

Don't compare people who like lore to that autist. I play purely for gameplay, but I feel that a game that has lore makes it more interesting and encourages you to explore more and see how person/place A relate to person/place B. Having no lore isn't bad by any means, but in an RPG that is famous for its replayablility it's almost essential. For example most people have stopped playing 4 probably because there's really nothing left to see in the game and nothing really interesting to look back on.

Reminder rant every companion in NV had a quest surrounding it, and the quests allowed you to finish in different ways that would help your companions grow in different ways. While there are only about 4 companion quests in F4 where they all end the exact same with exception of Danse where you can kill him or keep him alive.
