Never watched Digimon or played any other game before, but this Cyber Sleuth sold me on it.
Is it weird coming into this game with literally zero knowledge on Digimon? I didn't even know they were in the internet; I thought the "Digital" part of the name meant they were like from the future or clones/cyborg monsters.

Yeah but the cost for that is is that your own Digimon and their subplot is nonexistant. In almost anyone elses hands it's an okay idea but as Bamco does it it just takes focus away from your own Digimon and it's unforgivable.

You should have asked negatives about the game first. I'll list some now
1. You shouldn't preorder this game if you don't like standard JRPG turn based combat or having to do some micro managing to get certain Digimon or items.
2. You shouldn't preorder this game if you don't like Japanese culture. Though through some fucking MIRACLE you do not spend any of this game in a high school setting, a lot of the games charm is incorporating Japanese urban legends as missions that end up being caused by Digimon.
3. You shouldn't preorder this game if you're expecting a high level of difficulty. Though we are getting a new difficulty mode with the western release, we have no idea how exactly it's being tuned so it might just be HP Bloat mode. It's an easy game.
4. You shouldn't preorder this game if you don't love Digimon.
Honestly, I've spoiled a lot of the game for myself just to be certain I want to be preorder this game. If you aren't certain, wait for some reviews by less biased people to come out. As long as you purchase digital for the Vita you can still download all the special content free until the 1st of March.
