Ya know, I feels it's quite weird. FZero is in a situation where it has to be wondered, what could be done to improve or refine the game at all. It would be quite hard to deliver another game of the same quality. With how Nintendo is going nowadays, I feel a new F-Zero title would be a disappointment. It also doesn't help that Nintendo is trying to make fucking everything playable with Wii remotes.

I just feel that Nintendo should stop fucking allowing the wii remote to be used in some form for most games. Nintendo has never developed games where you had to press a lot of buttons in the first place. They like to keep things simple. That being said, you don't need more than 4 buttons to control F-Zero, and furthermore, recently they've been focusing on the tablet controller over retrocompatibility, which hopefully the NX will keep, so that's not the issue.

Add a course creator and online play and you have the definitive F-Zero. They could easily recycle the graphics and some coarses and nobody would give much fucks.

FAST Racing Neo is a broken piece of shit and recommending it to ANYONE in it's current state is a terrible idea.
>No minimap or race line so you have no visual indication on how far ahead or behind you are from the rest of the race.
>No way to select an individual race outside of Hero Mode which is Hypersonic Mirror Mode with only one life and your boost functions as your health and you can't even play that in multiplayer. While Hero mode is fun, it's actually easier than normal Hypersonic due to getting a full boost gauge right off the bat, the boost recharging very easily and the AI wiping itself out for good on the trickier courses (I actually beat Sunahara Desert several times on Hero Mode without boosting once because all the AI opponents wiped themselves out.) If you want to race in local multiplayer, you have to do the full cups every time.
>Nearly every single course is broken. Some more obvious than others but nearly every course has some sort of exploit that makes it so you can go from anywhere between skipping whole sections of the track to just skipping entire laps in 10 seconds.
>Jumping off ramps is pretty broken. The distance and height you travel in the air is mostly dictated by your upwards movement as you're travelling up the ramp. For normal ramps that rise in front of you in it doesn't make much difference but for ramps that slope up to one side, you can tilt up the slope as you leave and gain crazy amounts of height and distance. The Chuoku City shortcut/exploit revolves around doing this and can save you 20-30 seconds per lap on the lowest speed and 4-8 seconds on the highest.Rather than seeing it completely fixed I would rather see a sequel implement this into the course design, with even more branching pathways opening up depending on your mastery of this technique to allow for some high level play.

>Online is literally broken. Dropping you into races that are halfway done as a racer instead of a spectator, teleporting like crazy (even when the online is locked to the lowest speed because the netcode is terrible), positions not being registered properly (I've had " You got KEY NUMBER NOT FOUND First Place!" come up after winning a race at least five times) and on top of all that, online regularly crashes the game so badly that console will completely freeze up and the only to do anything is to unplug it for a hard reset.
I bought this game day one and I love the core gameplay, even in spite of some really terrible track hazards. The boost switch mechanic gives it enough of a spin on the formula to feel pretty fresh and your focus on trying to maintain your boost and hit as many boost replenishing orb paths adds enough precision required to make up for the relatively straight track layout (although I can understand if you want to argue this point). I had a fucking ball getting gold in all the cups, getting Hero in every level and the Time Trials are really challenging.
However, until these issues get patched, I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. these issues are that bad.
There's meant to be a patch coming this month though so hopefully these things will get fixed. the developers have already said a minimap/race line will be added in the patch so at least we know they are listening to some complaints. I'm just hoping they listen to the right ones because this game has the potential to be great instead good but heavily flawed.

Barely. If you're lucky, you might get a room with 4 or 5 people every once in a while. My usual experience has me waiting around five to ten minutes just to find one or two other people to play with.
The population has decreased massively from launch even more than what's normal thanks to a combination of constant crashes when playing online and MK Wii levels of people exploiting the level and glitches to win ridiculously quick. Like "the race will be over by the time normal players get to Lap 2" quick.

>Not only do the global rankings for the Grand Prix results not load half the time, they're not even reliable thanks to a glitch that basically resulted in results from a faster difficulty (and therefore much lower time) being uploaded in place of the actual run time from the correct difficulty, skewing the global results wildly out of place.
