There is also the problem of space. The 500gb size is pathetic for 2016. Meanwhile, there are barely any options for the 1TB model and it actually uses inferior hardware as they had improved some basic functions for the 500GB PS4.

I have always been a Sony guy, but it doesn't take a genius to see that now that Japanese developers are releasing more of their games for PC, the whole trend will just push more and more for mass releases and less about console exclusives. I would much rather have the same game on PC than have it on PS4.
And the hardware itself is already so lackluster. All Americans care about is graphics so we'll keep getting shitty 20fps games that run like shit on consoles, but run and look amazing on PC.
I think there is no winning right now in the gaming industry. You either spend a shit on a PC and barely get any value out of it, or you make a lot of micro purchases on PS4 that add up and continuously give you subpar performance across the board.
