Well you can't. He always lives no matter what. One of your friends dies, just because you can't kill him. It's the most retarded shit that everyone in your group wants him to live. It's literally his fault that people get killed because he blames you for "stealing" from him, when in reality he was stealing from his own group and got found out.

The Walking Dead season 2 was a mess, it just had a bunch of shit that made no sense at all like 'Hey Clem! I know you're just a small kid but can you do like 90% of the shit we need to progress?'

Season 1 was a masterpiece, season 2 was meh

I thought Season one handled it fine, because the characters were enjoyable enough and their relationships actually seemed to shift based on your choices.

In Season 2 it felt like everyone hated or loved Clem regardless of what choices the player made, and saving anyone just gave them an even more unsatisfying death than before. except arguably Alvin, though it's still just one different scene

Weirdly enough, I defend Tales from the Borderlands for its branching routes and interactions. They just had fun with them.

I expected Game of Thrones to be the one I would latch onto, but most of the story just felt like getting shoved into the mud. Over and over again. By invincible source-material characters.
>>
>>324278749
game of thrones was fucking horrible
absolutely atrocious
>>
>mfw Z Nation will never get a similar game

It would be fun to see what they could with a similar premise that doesn't take itself so seriously like TWD. It would be fun to see the two fanbases shitpost, if nothing.
>>
>>324278749

I really loved the wolf among us.
>>
>>324279236
GoT and Borderlands were made by two different teams and back to back. Shame game that actually required big action scenes, that being GoT, got handled by a completely inept director while Borderlands managed to make an imaginary finger shootout scene amazing.
>>
>>324279508
TWAU could have been Telltale's best game had it actually stayed on the level of quality established in the first episode. Maybe if they didn't set it up as a prequel to the comic would've given them more freedom to do what they wanted.
>>
>>324277649
Nothing because it doesn't matter considering Telltale establishes jack shit beforehand and obviously just writes their stories from episode to episode.

Wolf Among Us was good, and had a fun setting to work with, but the whole prequel thing brought some limitations.

And it can be hard to have a branching narrative in a mystery story, when the plot needs you to uncover the truth regardless of your terrible deductions or negotiation skills.

Well, it's Borderlands so it ain't no classic literature or anything, but the writing is tight and fights the game. Which sadly makes it all the worse when you can clearly pinpoint where Burch was involved in later few episodes because he has to take a dumb and mark his territory.

>>
>>324278749
This. I quit playing GoT about a third of the way through episode 4, even though I bought the season. They really shouldn't have added Ramsay. You know that being a source material character, there's no way you can ever get the upper hand on him. That being the case, any time he shows up, you just have to throw up your hands, and accept that he's there to unravel everything you've done. It's frustrating narratively, and from a "gameplay" standpoint.

I've heard great things about Borderlands, but I really don't like Borderlands' "Burchy" dialogue, so I've ignored it until now.

>>324280925
I'd recommend giving it a shot. I didn't think that Borderlands would translate into Telltale's format well at all, but now I think it's the best way to explore the setting.

It managed to find a good balance between not taking itself too seriously, and actually making the characters definitive and likable. Which was a breath of fresh air after Walking Dead season 2 and Game of Thrones.
>>
>>324280925
Problem was not having the balls to do anything no. In the end Forresters were just stand-in Starks mirroring their own fuckups and downfall. What Telltale should've done was something completely new, maybe set it on Essos or something. Also way too many playable characters and they had to pander to the EVERYONE CAN DIE bullshit because people expected it.
>>
>>324280986
Nick and Sarah were the closest to being developed characters with an actual arc to work with.

In the end, none of that shit (aside from Kenny/Jane dilemma) doesn't even matter.

It just felt like "Lets just make a bunch of characters and kill them off"

To me it just felt like Season's 2 ending was just a way to have Clementine by herself ( again) for a plot device
>>

I was repeatedly waiting for an option to call out Luke and Jane for what happened. Or you know, for anyone to mourn. At all.

Explain to me how in fuck was Tales from the Borderlands so good? Borderlands is literal dogshit with repetitive gameplay whilst Telltale hasn't made a good game since the last Monkey Island.

What sort of miracle took place here?
>>
I dont know, both seasons made me cry

This games stressed me so much, like, i didnt want to make choices. I didnt want to be on one side, fuck this shit. Everytime a big choice came, i had to literally pause the game and walk around my house thinking what should i do

Also, i was devastated when that fucking whore killed Carley best waifu ;_;
>>
>>324285082
For one thing, I think Borderlands has potential as a setting, as sort of a blend between otherworldly sci-fi and over the top Mad Max action.

But the original games can only do so much with silent protagonists and run-and-gun gameplay. Tales from the Borderlands takes a step back from the shoot-em-up side of the games and uses characters that aren't inherently action-oriented, forcing them to come up with different scenarios and comedic interactions.

Kenny had a hard life.
>>
Everyone always bitches about the shitty story or whether or not Jane or Kenny was the best choice. But my biggest gripe with the game was the actual point & click exploration parts. They were so short and cut down compared to the first season. They could have pretty much cut them out and just made it some sort of internet web series at that point. There was a lot to examine in the first season and you had to use your brain for some of the puzzles. Season 2 was just a bunch of arbitrary bullshit.
>>
>>324286291
They also axed most of the calm scenes where you just walk around and talk to your group. Made it hard to care about the new guys when I barely knew anything about them.
>>
The two main dynamics that season 2 lacked were a Lee/Clem relationship, and a Lilly/Kenny conflict.

No in-depth friendly relationship to keep Clem motivated (anyone that came close abruptly died), and no morally grey sequence of choices with two sides that both have credence.
>>
So, from what I've gathered:

>good
TWD
TWAU
Tales from Borderlands

>bad
GoT
TWD2
Minecraft

Fifty-fifty. Guess they still have some competent writers.
>>
>>324286291
>>324286452
That really hurt my investment in things.

It would have been nice just to have a few sections at the cabin or Carver's compound where you could walk around and actually learn a bit more about people, but the story never really slowed down to take a breath.
>>
Christ Season 2 was garbage.

They somehow managed to decrease the gameplay in an already low-gameplay game.

They kept trying to manipulate you into certain routes. No, Kenny was right, yet they made it seem like he was the bad guy. I'm not memeing, they clearly made the game biased.

The characters were much, much less interesting. Even Clem.

I cried to Season 1. I wept for Season 2.

Yup. And story has to have decent pacing in order to establish proper investment. Being able to make little decisions such as food distribution at the motel, walking around and talking to people at the farmhouse, being able to fix the train up, exploring that entire school, etc...all of it was a downtime in order to build the world up. Season 2 just had action after action after action. If theres a season 3 I sincerely doubt they'll drop that mantra, too. Oh well. I'll still pirate buy it.

Everyone saying "obviously you stick with Kenny", as much as I wanted to do that, I did this for Kenny. All kenny wanted was to know that you and little Carver would be safe. If I'd left with him and one of us died, he'd never recover. I couldn't do that to him.

I know he'll never see him again, but he walks away believing that we're finally safe, that he succeeded his mission. I wanted him to have that peace of mind. He deserves it.

Didn't cry for either S1 or S2 until the gates shut and I shed a spare few tears.

I liked the first episode of season 2, as far as exploring Clem's role as a child. She's not as strong as Lee, so she's forced to rely on her speed and size, as well as manipulating people's perception of her as a little girl.

Sadly, they didn't keep that tone up. They could have built on her relationship with younger characters like Sarah, or worked within her limitations, but she basically just becomes a secondary Lee.

>characters are just throwaway cameos and randoms who are just there to die

Literally the worst thing Telltale has done.
>>
>>324290298

>they didn't even reintroduce the 400 days villain even though he was just as interesting as Carver, who they also killed way too soon

Fucking season 2

400 days was set up so Bonnie was the only one guaranteed to go to the community at the end. and we all know if they can die/disappear, they're relegated to cameo.
>>
>>324289746
I can appreciate the emphasis on the helplessness of the situation to an extent, but it's transparent when they're trying to make you feel bad for your choices when it's obvious that both choices have the same result.

Like the whole confrontation with Ramsay in the first episode. There's no change when you refuse to open the gate for him, no explanation for how his soldiers got inside, and Ramsay murders a lord in his own hall and walks away unscathed regardless of how you told your men to prepare for his arrival.

I don't see why they had to make the 400 Days characters arrival at Carver's optional.

It could have been interesting to develop them more as the main cast.

yeah, it was dumb, I guess... but it was fun. I really miss those days. It wouldn't feel right to do it now, everything's just so different.

I never finished a borderlands game and i loved Tales from the borderlands, it was so great.

All the episodes felt refreshing, and each added a new view on the story, and not just cliffhanger to the next episode until it ends

Also, where the fuck is TWAU S2, Telltale? That was your best fucking work jesus christ make it happen already.

Poor Mira.

Apart from the guard's murder I tried to play things close to vest most of the time, so I didn't accomplish anything for the main plot.

Now the whole potential execution pretty much guarantees that she won't have any vital role in season 2

So Faith is alive at the end right? The ending confused me if they were switched the whole time or not.
>>
>>324276935
This
>>
>>324293574
The way I saw it, I think that we never really met Faith. She was dead before the start after Nerissa revealed what she was trying to do behind Georgie's back.

So Nerissa had glamoured herself to look like Faith in order to set us on her trail and eventually free her from the Crooked Man
>>
>>324291461
Well she's either dead or in a rape dungeon

How could she have any role in a new season
>>
>>324293574
I'm pretty sure faith got the real nerissa killed. So yea, Faith got the real Nerissa killed and to let Bigby know that she was actually faith and not Nerissa she tells him the same line that faith told Bigby at the begging of the game and then agan at the end. I'm not sure if that makes sense but what I do know is that I need some closure on this mynigger.
>>
>>324294153
That's a noir ending for you

Can be interpreted either way

Faith alive Nerissa dead is fucking obvious
>>
>>324276935
I liked season 2 because it made you have the feels about season 1. It made you reflect on the past season since you were seeing how much she had to grow up.

The Walking Normie by Crap Tale Games are the reason we are getting these stupid episode style releases for other games like Hitman and FF7R.

This series is a blight to the vidya.
>>
>>324280925

>>
Hated nearly all the characters introduced in season 2. Only one I really like was Nick and Pete. Pregnant chick can go fuck herself.
>>
>>324294968
But if it was actually Nerissa or someone else's head left on the doorstep in the first episode, wouldn't the glamour have worn off a while after death?

>>
>>324295798
Rebecca could have been fine if her personality didn't waver between bloodthirsty and perfectly amiable in-between episodes.

They should have just given the pregnant role to Christa if they had to have it.

Though honestly I would have skipped the baby plotline altogether, in favor of focusing on characters that could actually talk and endear themselves to me.

I wanted the Rhys Fiona combo, but they really steer clear of that. There's a subtle option at the very end that could hint at their relationship, but the conversation doesn't even head that way unless you pick certain answers. Shameful SHIT
