Find an inn and spend your discipline points. You get core skills you activate and some other skills that change how your standard attacks work.
For instance, the one for daggers will make it so after the first attack, waiting a moment before attacking again will chain spinning kicks, which are useful against things weaker to blunt strikes.

Sorcerer with scather/challenger Ranger pawn.
Will probably switch to mystic knight when i'm fully done with sorcerer, dunno if i should switch pawn to any other vocation, she's great at disabling ranged enemies and those are the most annoying to deal with as a sorc.
Overall i really love it even though it really is a flawed gem. Escort quests are garbage. Quest cancelling is bullshit. But combat is so spectacular and fun i forgive everything.

I played this when DA was released on consoles and I only played the Strider/Assassin class.
Just bought this for PC and I'm hesitant on which class to play. Warrior/2handed seems a tad samey as I've only played physical class.
Magic class seems a bit slow though, with all the casting animations being really long and you standing still.

Grinding for more DP. At level 50 something and still have done maybe one wyrmhunt quest. I did a quick foray into BBI and picked up a ring of perseverance so that's coming along. Playing on hard. OHKOs are common and nothing besides grinding up levels seems to stop that form happening (aside from never getting hit, but whatever).
I ported over my old character using some sliders I saved from my PS3 copy of DD. Feels good.
Also, when taking screenshots, always have a lantern on. Stops the darkness from happening.

Started as Strider for about 15 levels to get extra stamina/hp. Currently level 24ish Sorcerer (getting that magic up before going back to Mage for some augments/spells).
I made my pawn into a huge tanky guy to give a little variety to the endless female pawns I see, the high weight limit also allows him to carry my shit nicely. He's Fighter/Warrior.

I did not receive a cutscene, I grabbed the stone and shit popped out at me.
Also I had the max gear with upgrades at the time. The ogre refused to fucking die, first time I fought he would one shot me.
Hell after that fight I was going against the bandits again just before the forest for an escort mission and I was being one shot for 1099 life by the bandits with shields. Shit was fucked.

It's not that warriors are BAD, it's just that when you compare them to all the other classes, they lack severely. The most notable is the ridiculous fucking "haha only get 3 skills instead of 6" bullshit that I don't know why they never fixed. It's not just that though. The other pure melee classes have ways to haul ass quickly(mystic knight has that weird air dive move that propels you forward and whatever that fighter dash attack move is" but warrior has none. Also they are the only class that makes you stand there taking blows with no way to negate the attack.
That said though, I was struggling to kill a chimera at level 20 or so as an assassin, but when I realized I wanted that rank 10 augment from warrior and switched, I used that retarded 10 second wind up move and took about 80% of the chimera's health off in one hit. It's the only class I have played that makes me go "god DAMN" when you hit someone so hard.

Once you get enough money, eating shit to heal is pennies and if you use that mantle you get from Fournival anytime you heal, it heals all your pawns the same amount. If you REALLY love your boons you can still make a sorcerer with 3-4 huge ass spells and 1-2 boons for your weapons.

I'm running a strider into ranger into assassin into mage into sorcerer into magic archer Arisen. My pawn is going to be Mage into Sorcerer, but I'll take a break from that path so I can train her under the same vocations as myself.

The difference between 190 levels of warrior and 190 levels of sorc is like 500 magic. A decent BBI weapon will cover that with ease. If you change vocations frequently as most people do the difference will be even more marginal.
In fact it's recommended you do a few warrior and ranger levels since stamina and health cannot be increased by gear.

The difference between sorcerer and assassin is around 800 strength. That is a fucking retarded amount of damage you give up, especially if you pair that with the two glyphs that multiply strength by 20% and then 10%. Even before those glyphs, the very best daggers in the game give 1400 strength at absolute max upgrade. 800 more strength from leveling is 60% more damage, which is important thanks to the way the damage calculation is applied against defense.

I mean, yes you can activate DSR via Nvidia control panel and thus play the game at say 1440p or so, so something like DSFix actually isn't necessary at all. However, only certain resolutions work, I believe it was 1.5x, 2.25x and 4x, etc. I'd recommend checking the box for all of them, then launching Dragon's Dogma and seeing which ones are available.
As for draw distance, sadly Capcom was unable to code further visibility due to instability. This means that npcs will pop-in often which is quite annoying. Sadly until a deligent modder fixes the issue, there is no true fix as of yet.

Most melee Pawn inclinations should be Scather for Primary, Challenger for Secondary. You can make an exception for Rangers where Challenger as a Primary is pretty helpful.

That's just the layout of bitterblack. Magick archers absolutely rape everything that's in enclosed spaces. Which almost the entirety of BBI is. Anything works fine. Fighter, warrior, and mage may become frustrating after a while however, as mage is support and the others lack decent ranged options. But really, anything is fine.

Immolation scales off physical ATK not MAG ATK. Assassin solo buffs got nerfed to 20% boosts. MA is only really good in BBI because of Ricochet.

It's rough but you can do it at even level 5-6. The big fucks you just gotta hve someone give you a weapon enchantment and go to town on him. Kill the archers and then the small dudes, then fuck up the big guys. Just kite like mad and let your pawns do the work.

I gave up on my 360 version. At first it was fun going to all the little neat places. It was annoying how you can only get 46 and 47 during a specific story plot mission, but I got them anyway...

Use your multiple arrows in one shot attack, preferably with elemental augment, and make sure to hit those weak spots. Also remember that the Strider bows have limited range, they do literally no damage even if you actually hit the enemy if you fire from too far away.
Ranger longbows on the other hand get increased damage at long range.

So apparently you can go to tier 2 vocations or hybrids. What's good for each? All I know is fighter and warrior only get 3 skills which is stupid. Assassin sounds appealing because you get more shit to do but ultimately looks like you'll be a glass cannon. Mystic Knight looks rad too.

Fighter gets 3 sword skills and 3 shield skills. Warrior is the only class in the game that only gets 3 skills total.
Pawns cannot be hybrid classes but can be the other 6.
Play whatever you want, switch as often as you want, it doesn't really matter.

Sounds pretty reasonable. Otherwise you could wind yourself out and have no way of attacking. As it is, you can use special attacks for greater damage and then use regualr attacks while your stamina recharges.

Fighter has 6 skills, as does everyone but Warrior. Pawns can't go hybrid, but can go for advanced vocations. Advanced vocations aren't upgrades, but specializations. All vocations are fun and viable(except the supportslut mage). Assassin is absolutely no glass cannon with all its invincible moves and counters and shit.
