I know I'll be called a casual for this, but did anyone else just straight up give up on ever finishing 100 Mario expert challenge the required amount of times to unlock everything?

This mode just isn't fun and it seems like it tests your patience more than your skill. It gets really old skipping levels until you find one that wasn't made just for trolling purposes.

Finishing it two times was enough for me. I tip my fedora to anyone that has the patience to put up with all that bullshit 30 fucking times.

Intermediate: Auto levels that people didn't know were auto because the name was japanese, a few decently thought out levels, but a LOT of Tower of Bowsers and springs on springs on springs

They really should remove or change the life system. I feel that it discourages people to play anything remotely difficult since trying to beat it will cut a large percentage of their total lives.

For example a system where each level you start off with 10 lives and removing the skip feature (you can still end your life in the menu but you'd have to do it each time). If you run out of lives you failed that level and it moves to the next one, giving you the opportunity to star it and save it for later if you liked the challenge. This would encourage players to at the very least try out the bullshit instead of leaving at first site. In the end, your success rate will be held as a percentage of levels you completed to failed and your highest success rate will be shown on the screen.

It's perfectly possible to make good Lakitu levels. Even with multiple of them. There's always going to be some randomness to them, which is why I'm not a huge fan. But I've played some good ones. Mostly, you have to do them like in the original SMB and make the level optimal for running. Like, don't also have a shitload of other enemies. I've played a few good ones that are like that. Also, making them throw things other than Spiny when there's multiple of them helps.

That's what it was. Above there was a p-switch wall to go through that was guarded by spinys. Fail and you have to take the route in front of the axe. Succeed, like I did, and then it's a blind fall when you know you are at the end of the level because you're at the edge of the screen. Just a bad idea all around, whether it was intentional or not.

In all honesty, sometimes I figure out where the dev path is real quick in enemy spam levels. In one case I completed a level pretty damn quickly by going the "intended" path (Bowser's not predictable aside from telegraphing if there is any so I was lucky he made a huge jump when I was running to the goal).
