Just looking at the skills, I'd say my general plan is to have my bard in the back, then a vestal, then someone in rank two that can attack from rank three.
My Jester will battle ballad, then next turn he can either solo, or stress heal as needed, then after the solo, he nukes whomever he wants and heads back to the back rank to do it all again. Mean while my Vestal has no issues moving from rank three to four, and my front ranks can still deal their damage while the Jester solos.
The only problem is that if I do that I can't really use Plague Doctor very much, though I love her look and skills, since I can't really see keeping her in rank 2.

Are there any new classes being released for the full release? I have most of my characters at about level 3 right now, and I'm liking the game so far, but it's a real shame there's no actual fail state. So far only one was confirmed, a female Merchant. They said that taking her will feel like an escort mission. My guess is that she simply sucks at combat no matter what position, but she can use her skills to steal and pillage. Or get the best possible loot from curios. Or more heirlooms. But anyways, the idea that she will be Asian is just a guess. In terms of appearance, the devs have only said she'll have a "silk road aesthetic" so she might be another Middle Easterner like the the Occultist, a Chinawoman, or a European trader.

I fail to see how a holy crusader would be cool with summoning fucking tentacles from another dimension. If he's tolerant or desperate enough to be fine with that, he should be fine working with a cursed guy using his affliction for good ends.
That's sort of the point of there not being party restrictions originally, in my opinion: Eldrich horrors are infesting the mansion, fighting to clear it is a suicidal, and likely impossible task, so you fight with anyone willing to go. The situation is so bad, they can't afford to not work with someone due to doctrine or principle or personal taste; that they're willing to risk their lives fighting back the darkness is the only requirement.
