In the middle ofsaving Catiua. Going to get fusiliers next and begin leveling new classes to revamp my team.

I didn't really like the monster units but I had a couple of griffins and a faerie (I don't remember why I had the faerie but it was because of a specific ability or sth, maybe haste)

How did the faerie end up for you? I'm not sure what to expect.
Law is, by far, the best route in the game. Best overall story and recruits. I highly recommend it.
I had no save data coming into the Vita version of the game as my PSP died so I'm stating over with the neutral route and working my way around.

I think the rest of the game makes it far better overall than the original

Looks like crap.
System look weird for the sake of being unique. Names and classes sound like from some sort of MMO. Also it doesn't even look or sound similar.
TO I really like that it was mostly western monsters and classes(knights and Griffins) and mythology but this sound like eastern crap.
Sadly the closest thing to medieval company simulator is Battle Brothers but it doesn't look that great even if it is fully playable.

Probably because what makes those games good has little do to with the inherent traits of the genre? I personally love them cause of how much control you have over party development, equipment, etc. Sure, the games still have their flaws, but I don't know any other SRPGs that handle customization this well.

i'm with you. hate the class system, and the difficulty changes are completely baffling. not only is every map insanely easier, but losing units is practically impossible in the remake.
Gonna play this game again eventually, I fucked up with my team and there was a map I couldn't get past no matter how hard I tried. I think it was a regular battle on that map that is basically very vertical scaffolding and the other team.had nothing but flying units. My team gets reamed hard because most of them can't climb fast enough and we get mobbed.

Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. Remake of an old PS1 SRPG by the Final Fantasy Tactics guys. Original team doing most of the remake. Literally everything about the game has been drastically updated besides the sprites themselves.

Plenty harder in pretty much ever respect. Until I got griffins I have no ranged, bar a little spellcasting. It was a serious pain. I plan to get at least dragoons or fusiliers for ranged play while I still leave out archers.
It's a very worthwhile experience in retrospect. The battles are far more intricate and challenging now.
