I always play the first two-three missions of either game, then quit and don't start the game up again for months. When I get the urge to play it again, I go "Hm, it was a long while since I last played and I didn't get very far, I should probably start from the beginning". And then the cycle repeats. It's a shame, since I'm otherwise an absolute sucker for cyberpunk.

Dark Souls for me too. I really, really wanted to love it, but I just can't. I got to Anor Londo before the game play just became too unsatisfying for me to continue. Getting to a new bonfire became tedious as fuck due to control issues and even when I got there I didn't feel a sensation of success.

It's the controls mainly, I just can't get to grips with them. I'm aware the more recent ones have more casual controls but that's missing a ton of the story if I start there.
Also Resident Evil for the same reasons. It's easy if you grew up with it I imagine but if you let it slide by its awkward to control.

As a poorfag with no PS2 this seem like a dream game. All your favorite FF characters in a single game, and they're voice acted too! Never cared for the Disney content though. Played it years later and just couldn't get into it. Same case with Dissidia.

them souls games everybody on here has a hard on for....I tried dark souls and I thought the graphics and art style where nice enough but I'm not a fan of being thrown in the deepend with almost no direction whatsoever...I feel like half the difficulty of the game was not understanding how certain aspects worked and the other half was being able to wander in to high level areas way before you where prepared..i could probably have liked it if it came with a decent manual or a tutorial...I guess you can call me a casual now, ive only been gaming since psycho fox on MS, hwat do I know?

The game is pretty damn good but it sucks because it never really "wows" you until you can explore everythinf which is at the end of the game
And the other half of the game is just spamming the attack command until you level up more and even so you will still just attack because most enemies are easy.

I play them constantly but unless I'm fucking around starting mass-fighting with civilians (who are ironically more fun than most enemies) I get bored pretty fast, and never get even a quarter throught the main game. Mods only marginally improve the longevity.

I see the pros it has over the other Smash's (although often exaggerated) but jesus does the game feel so stiff and unpolished. I guess I just don't have the necessary autism to enjoy it.

Probably just the outdated controls for this series, aside from MGSVand Rising. And maybe the stealth being more required than, say, Syphon Filter's. But man, after all the endless little bits of unique features and love spawned from Kojima's weirdness, I keep wanting to retry it.

Actually the Souls series is piss easy after the first time you play it because the flaws you listed is exactly what make them "hard". Most people enjoy the series by playing blind the first time and get treated like shit by the enemies then enjoy the game on NG+ by either knowing everything already (Dark Souls 1) or get kick in by the new stuff added (Dark Souls 2) but once you learn what get added on NG+ the only enjoyable from the game you can get is PvP or Speedrunning, god help you if you don't care about either as in that case it is literally a game you play once and never touch again.
