Using pretty much any blaster other than the Rapid is ez modo Tower Control.
SZ can be done with any weapon that you're confortable with.
As for stats, they depend on the "build" you're going for. Just remember that the "small" abilities are worth about 1/3 of a "big" one and that the effects diminish when you have many of the same, so try to have different many equal small buffs and many different big buffs.
