Sawyer cut out 2 of Avellone's 4 companions and cut out Avellone's main story writng entirely.
He then proceeded to greatly cut the dialogue of the remaining 2 companions because Avellone's companions had so much writing they made others look like garbage in comparison.
Guess what, despite all the cuts those 2 companions STILL have the most dialogue and are the most intersting in the game.

He was also making two more, a monk and a female cleric/warrior. The former got cut but added in the expansion but with completely new writing by Sawyer since Avellone's version was considered "too problematic" and the woman cleric/warriior got removed because, I shit you not, she had plate armor with boobs. SJWs bitched VERY hard about it on both the forums and kickstarter so Sawyer decided it's better to cave in to their demands and remove her from the game.

Enter building in stronghold, that's two. Do what you're there to do, shop, sleep, whatever. Exit building, that's number three. Then leave, that's four.

Considering that George Lucas absolutely hated what they did in KotOR II, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they had been blacklisted from future projects involving the IP.
