It's fake. The article claims he needs the Hookshot to navigate, but that comes up at the middle of the game. There is also text to read, so he could do it on his own.
I was kinda put off by the fact that he used save states, but it was pretty cool to see him know where a cutscene would leave him facing for him to know where to go
I think its a great achievement for him. Wonder if he'll ever plan to do it without savestates one day.

Even ignoring the fact that you would actually know what you were missing and have to deal with the fact that all your memories would slowly fade until you can't even remember what your mother looked like, people born blind would go through special school and all that shit to learn how to deal with it and read brail and crap.

At the risk of sounding like a tumblr, I wonder if there would be ways of making games more accessible to the blind and other people with disabilities. Modern games are already so easy, why not take the extra step and make them easy enough for people with legitimate disibilities rather than just being casual scum to beat.
