v has less you can do controls and movement wise.
in 4 you can flatten yourself while prone on stomach or back. in 4 if you peek over an edge while aiming snake actually peeks over the edge. this is hard to explain but i am talking about if you are laying down and looking down off a building for example. snake will lean over the edge of the building. knocking is equal to wrist spinning. diving is equal to rolling. just mentioning those as many people often mention them as differences which the other one apparently lacks. mgs4 has octocamo. v brought back 3's needing to go into a menu for camo, but made it worse now that you cannot see the camo index as well as you have to order different camo instead of changing in the menu. mgs4 has the best controlling cqc and is not just a mash fest like v's is. there are secret cqc moves in both, but the ones in 4 are more interesting and practical. like the knockout rape. v had cqc removed from ground zeroes. i am talking about the stealing guns from enemies move. 4 had a mechanic where you can play dead if you don't move after being hit. guards in 4 had to actually phone in to call each other on an alert instead of being psychic. 4 still had the classic l and r menu instead of the shitty portable ops thing that v went with. there is more variance in weapons in 4, there are more custom parts in v, but 4 had only customizations that mattered, while v takes the call of duty approach of stat crunching tiny numbers which hardly effect gameplay. 4 had bosses, good bosses. not all of them were good , but none of the metal gears have all good bosses. v had 1 or 2 bosses you had to fight the rest were just run away encounters. mgs4 had a good story, and while it explained more than it should have about the lore surrounding 2, it was at least a good final ending spot for the franchise. 4 has warring enemy factions fighting each other. v has warring enemy factions ignoring each other being situated like 100 yards away.

I'm not that guy but I think he is right. Uncharted and God of War are just older and more popular. I've seen commercials and review for them on tv. I've known them as symbols of Sony gaming for the longest time.
In comparison I've only ever encountered DeS on /v/. In comparison to uncharted or gow, DeS doesn't exist outside of /v/ which is souls fans central basically and even then few among said souls fans have played it.
I don't think sales figures for the unch. gow remasters matter because if they didn't sell that just means that Sony took a risk that just didn't pay off but that risk was taken on the well known fact that those series are popular, sold very well and are synonymous with Playstation.
