Nobody cares about what Sacred Stones did. If you didn't notice, these games have pretty much abandoned the design philosophy of the GBA games, especially when it comes to grinding. If the reason why they removed repeatable missions is because they want to hawk their grinding DLC then that's to be expected, except for the part where you can easily make missions repeatable without allowing them to reward EXP.
And no, this has nothing to do with difficulty. The game has a play option that makes all of your units literally invincible, there's no more usage limits on weapons, and the fog of war is gone completely. Any other erxcuse for removing it is gone.

Please note that to unlock stuff in the game you need one physical version and then get the DLCs or the Special Edition. Having both carts makes it so you lose on the number of save slots, you don't get the bonus promotional items and your renown doesn't carry over.

It is in most respects. Even Hoshido which is boring as sin is at least a little better than Awakening. The issue with it and IK though is the AI is dumb as rocks and simple enough to predict and abuse, whereas with Nohr they're devious bastards. That said, part of the reason for that is the Nohr AI have a healthy amount of skills to work with in order to fuck with you. No bullshit like Counter and Luna on everything but actually decently thought out and well placed ones to make otherwise simple things require a second look.

By devious I mean they tend not to pick horribly one sided fights that will end in their deaths and nothing accomplished for them. Occasionally they will but sometimes they'll go up to a unit that will stomp them and just not attack. They abuse Attack Stance dual strikes like no tomorrow, as well as dicking you with after battle debuff skills. They tend to travel in packs, so even if one of your units is very capable they could still get fucked just from the nature of which the AI moves. Its not 100% infallible but its noticeably different from the other 2 routes.
There's one child paralogue for a Nohr kid where I wanted to aggro a few heroes in the middle of the map, but in doing so it triggered every single remaining enemy on the map to begin to converge on that location. The remaining ones alsp happened to all be mounts of some kind and there was at least 15 of them. That wasnt a fun time.

The problem with Fates story in general is that it very clearly follows the sort of plot line you'd expect a manga to follow instead of a game. As a result, the story is more defined by individual instances than the overall experience and the plot moves very episodically over one long arc.
The other problem is that it isn't really what was initially advertised. People expected Nohr to be about changing the country from within as what we were told it would be, but that is instead not what the story is at all. The route being called Conquest is actually a much more appropriate name.
Frankly, most of the stuff I'd heard about Nohr's plot before playing it turned out to be completely wrong and I still see people posting wrong information about it occasionally, so there's that issue as well, but Nohr's sub plots and underlying elements are definitely better than it's main story.

Another thing I like is how enemies have various skills that make you think about how to approach them. Archer's late game will often have counter, making melee attacks risky unless you can kill them in one hit. "Cut through" is a skill that swaps you and whoever you attack after battle, another skill certain enemies use. It's really interesting how you have to approach some groups of enemies just because of the skills they have equipped.
