I own it and its shit, I wish I hadn't wasted the money. The tracklist for the career mode is fucking awful, not sure if you looked it up yet. The premium list is better but you don't get to play infinitely, its a really shitty set up. Also disliking Rock band 4. Shitty set list too, bunch of crappy DLC and its missing all the classics. I think Amplitude is more fun but it's all original tracks this time around, which may be a plus depending on who you ask.
It's alright.
I'd recommend it if you're into that sort of thing.
If you're a hardcore rhythm game guy it might not be your sort of thing though, there's all sorts of weird shit, but it's still pretty fun.
>>323933032
>>323933126
I'm the second guy and yeah first guy was right about the track list. You might want to look it up because it is pretty fucking bad. But hey maybe you like trash, definitely check that out first if you're interested.
And Amplitude is pretty rad.
The day it came out it was 100€.
Then 89€.
Then 79€
Then 69€
Now it's 59€
>>323933032
>check the list
>literally three songs from before the year 2000
Goddamn, playing muh dadrock was one of my favorite parts of Guitar Hero, how do you fuck up this bad?
I'll probably get it when I see it for 60 or 50 at walmart. 79 is still too high for this.
>>323931068
>bunch of crappy DLC
Hence why the price is so low. PSN has dozens of of high priced DLC songs.
>>323934037
>Tablet
Why not just learn a real instrument and not be a faggot?
>>323931068
The on disc was good but not great. People shit on GHTV which is guitar hero's MTV function. If there was any problem with it, it's small. I love the shows, the micro transactions are never in the way at all, and as you play you earn more than enough to play any song you want as many times you want. If it is seriously a problem then fucking shill out cash but there's no need to bitch about not having enough to play your favorite song 50 times in a row.
>>323935313
Why don't you buy a real gun instead of playing an fps?
Why don't you learn real sword combat instead of playing an rpg?
>>323935916
>If it is seriously a problem then fucking shill out cash
You had me until this point. If you're defending microtransactions then I have to assume you're a marketer.
Get a cheap second hand guitar and rocksmith in stead. It's a game that actually teaches you how to play the songs and it's so much more satisfying.
>>323931068
Dual frets hurt my fingers a lot.
i'm glad i learned to play an instrument when i was young and didn't get sucked into this retard genre that bears absolutely no similarity to actual music
like how does it feel to rack up hundreds of hours in one of these games and realize you could have put those hours into a real instrument
So if I liked all the previous ones is it a safe bet I would like this one?
>>323936108
Not defending at all. I never had to pay because you have to do is play the damn game, level up a few times, and boom you have a ton of plays. That's how micro transactions should work. Not hinder your game or block you from access. Their system works because it allows you to experience music you haven't heard of or play new songs from a favorite genre you like. It's fun and doesn't force you or tempts you at all to shill out.
Live mode is fun but it's a gimmick that gets old by the time you're finished with it. Some songs are really good but most are just downright questionablethough it's still better than RB4's song list though not by much
TV mode is godtier that gets updated every week. It has microtransaction bullshit in a way though so be aware of that.

>>323936129
>>323936431
Go be faggots somewhere else.
>>323936447
It just doesn't sound right, being forced to play Bangarang or some other shit before I can get back to muh dadrock.
>>323936108
Face it anon, micro transactions are the future. Get a job that can sustain your hobbies k?
>>323936186
i hurt yr mum with my fingers m8, 's truth.
>>323936559
ok. just remember that nobody wants to make music with you because you waste your time playing finger ddr for lazy idiots
>>323936578
With 2 channels and a third on the way, different music will always be playing with each channel not playing the same genre at the same timeat least I have never experienced that. So if a pop song is playing I can just jump on the other channel instantly and play System of a Down. It's a great idea to quickly change channels on the fly.
>>323936787
Have fun never playing music anyone else but you will hear. While I'm actually having fun.
>>323936787
Not him but I can play a real instrument (not a string instrument though) and still enjoy Guitar Hero, though I haven't played one since 5, this one just looks too shitty.
>>323936848
>third on the way
Source? I believe it but I need proof of this.
>tfw you just want to play dadrock but you have to sit through the shittiest metal possible firstBUT IT'S TIME TO BREAK THE CYCLE
>>323931068
You heard wrong.
>>323937021
It was mentioned in one of Activision's interviews about the future of GHTVI am in class right now so no YouTube til afterbut that is what the plays are for. Go play your dad rock once you go through the tutorial. You earn enough to play through most of your dad rock.
Or stop complaining about playing a genre and experience other genres. Then you can go through dad rock endlessly afterwards. Expand your tastes anon. Barely any songs in GHTV are shitty metal dubstep pop songs.
Fuck it, I bit the bullet. Shit is only fifty bucks. Hopefully I get at least that out of it.
>>323933032
>I own it
lmao how fucking stupid can you possibly be?
>>323937792
My niggaWhat guitar do you own?
>>323938503
The game is absolutely terrible, friend. The worst guitar game ever made.
>>323938684
Most people say the new guitar is the best part.
>>323938623
Something small for my hands and my fucked up wrist.
>>323934337
Well all of the visual stuff is FMV/Music Video which means you can run it on a freakin' Apple TV if you want.
>>323938756
The new guitar is great.
Main game is eh, at best unless you're into mostly modern music.
>>323938756
The game itself is awful on every level.
Basically both Guitar Hero Live and RB4 have shit set lists if you don't listen to pop music 24/7.
I find that the DLC for RB4 is decent, but w/e. They have added some shit for free to RB4 and are apparently planning more free shit in the way of modes and MP possibly.
Guitar Hero Live is pure sham garbage forcing you to basically pay everyday.
Rocksmith is red pill tier where you actually learn to play guitar and still have shit loads of fun during the repetitive process of learning a real instrument.
>>323933032
>>323933789
The problem with the setlist/New DLC is that they used up all the good material in previous games or DLC.
You can still get all of the previous DLCs/Rock Band 3 setlist.
>>323938848
>manlet detected
When will they ever learn?
>>323931068
le shill face
>>323939018
See the thing is, I have never really liked the music much to begin with. It's all mostly mainstream shit that I've heard 100 times before. If the song is fun to play then I really don't give two shits.
My question is are the songs fun to play?
>>323939053
Rocksmith is great i just hate how it has the GH/RB focus of hitting notes at the right time, which is great for a game but bad for a learning tool
>>323939053
With RB4 they're trying to avoid the over-saturation of Rhythm Games on the last gen and instead are going to update RB4 with all of the missing features (Playlists, Practise Mode, maybe online Multiplayer)
>>323938848
Is that an electronic ukulele?
>>323939208
Some of the online ones are.
Offline, not so much.
>>323939208
You know what dude, enjoy your terrible game. I don't know how many times you need to be told not to waste $50 on a piece of utter shit, but apparently it's more times than I'm willing to commit to.
>>323939208
>are the songs fun to play?
They're alright, although the Story mode thing tends to repeat songs quite a bit if you don't have any additional songs.
>>323939368
It's manlytears' six string bass.
>>323939304
Will they update it to not suck? Why not build upon RB3 and rebrand it?
>>323939476
Either answer me or don't respond asshole.
>>323939395
>>323939485
Thanks.
>>323931068
You heard wrong, Rock Band 4 is where its at but I think it's only worth it just to play songs
>Trying to find a cheap copy of RB3 to export songs (£12 for licence)
>Can't find it cheaper than £20 online
>No local stores have it
>>323939594
One of the reasons why RB4 is a bit limited is that they no longer have the funding from MTV Games, which was why they went to Mad Catz to distribute the game.
>>323939662
>>323939857
>Everyone's a dang hipster
>Not as many animations so they repeat more
That's probably a side effect of them being independent this time around.
>>323931068
>You don't actually own any DLC, rather you rent it
Nah m8
>play rock band 1-3 everyday, buy multiple instruments twice, spend over $2000 on DLC
>don't even bother looking at RB4 because it's shit with no multiplayer and bad music
I own all the guitar hero and rock band games and even I wouldn't touch the new ones.
>>323940193
Not so different from regular DLC then.
Why not just have fun while learning a real skill? These "controllers" will last you a lifetime.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMI2MziaqFU
>>323940409
Man, I wanted a bass like that but it was a little bit out of my price range at the time.
>>323939739
Why not reuse the assets and animations? The new ones suck ass.
>>323940409
>Bass
my nigga
>>323931068
It's fun, but I agree with everyone else - the career tracklist is shit. It's just the same songs that the radio has played to death in the past year or so. People can shit on dadrock all day, but it's more fun to play in these kinds of games than say, Mumford & Sons. GHTV has a pretty well-rounded list of songs, though, and just playing whatever is up on the channels is often enjoyable enough just because you don't know what you'll get to play next.
The career mode's presentation is neat if you can get past playing 40 songs that all sound nearly the same. The live-action experience is pretty cool to watch and they did a good job putting it together. GHTV generally has you playing with the highway over the song's music video. Because of this approach, you don't get a decently mixed version of the song that only distorts the guitar if you mess up, rather it dampens the entire song and there's no way to turn off the annoying "you fucked up noises." But you shouldn't be hearing those anyway if you're good enough, right?
The changes to the controller and the notes make it interesting and just different enough to make veterans of the series face a new challenge, though it gets easier once you make it past the initial hump of memorizing where the buttons are. I had a strange issue with mentally wanting the white notes to be on the top of the controller and the black on the bottom for some reason, which I eventually got past. Also I suck at bar chords for some reason. The controller itself is nice enough, but I've had issues with the buttons sticking a bit, and a lot of people apparently have had similar issues. Also, be sure that you have controller vibration on on your console settings or the buttons won't respond in the game aside from in the menus.

I really need to start playing my bass again.
I've neglected my practice for a few years though.Mainly because I have no one to perform with. I just can't muster the motivation to do things solo.
