I think people want a more mysterious approach to the Egyptian gods, kinda like in Assassins Creed 2. They're more of a background element, but still a part of the world and the player gets spooked out when interacting with them in any way.
Better than like MOBA games where you actually play as them and shoot fireballs or whatever.
