At least in Dark Souls 1 you had to use one of your two ring slots for that shit or wear armor with low poise. Not that PvP in either game is any good but I never outright didn't want to attack like in Dark Souls 2 what with instant kill parries.

I like the game and the general design, but the bosses weren't hard. Which is for better/worse depending on who you talk to.
I guess Rom might actually be the most difficult just because there are a lot of cheap ways to die in that fight. But as long as you know how to dodge and focus the little spiders first she isn't too bad.
