I grabbed an item that lets me reflect my tears off of walls and so what I did was run near a wall and shoot my laser towards it, causing it to bounce all the way to the opposite end of the room.
I abused the shit out of this and beat greed since I didn't have to be anywhere near the enemies or bosses to damage them

Did you only ever play him while he was accidentally overnerfed or something? He can oneshot any early-game enemies, he's fast, and he can fly. He clears rooms faster than anyone, his only downside is his range which doesn't matter if you don't get hit.

Nope, it's still really easy to break. The difficulty curve is fucked, Basement is ALWAYS the hardest floor on Greed mode, and it then gets easier and easier, because you get to pick and choose your own items.
The only way to lose in Greed mode is to get shit luck early-game so you can't start snowballing. Azazel's a character who can't lose early-game because he doesn't need any items yet, and he can even oneshot hard waves like the double spiders.

My first Keeper run was horrible. I got god-tier items, blank card and Jera, saw a Mystery card on the floor and decided to see what happened.
It teleported me to Error room on Depths 2 and consumed both the Mystery and Blank card. I killed Isaac for the Wooden Nickle post-Hush and called it a day. Since then, out of ~200 runs total, only 2 have ever been good enough for end-game content/not raped by RNG double taps.

Get some good RNG on item rooms, skip Satan room, but do look incase free shit and then 10 cents in the Donation box each floor until it jams/you get half a key.

Spare your money, Azazel really is an easy character. Not the easiest for Greed mode, that would be Lilith, but still an OP character under most circumstances. I'm not telling you just to boast my abilities in the game, it's just the truth. Yes, he has shit range, but his dmg is off the charts, and his mini-Brimstone has penetration. If you die with Guppy's Collar, you can simply close the game normally and reopen it, your run will still be there and you can spawn back in and immediately die, which rerolls the chance to respawn from Guppy's Collar. It's also a way to give Keeper a half soul heart.

I know that a lot of players enjoy the broken runs but I think Edmund never had that as his vision for the game, it was always just supposed to be a twinstick shooter with a large number of powerups to add variation to runs. The most broken thing in the original was chocolate milk with brimstone and now we've got combos like blank card+habit+sun that make it literally impossible to die no matter how bad you are.

The alt floors only change one or two enemies and the music,they're pretty much recolors. The secret boss is just boring and not engaging to fight against. I'm not sure if it's proven, but it seems many of the new enemies are tanky, there's more obvious examples with bosses but even the shitty recoloured "new" enemies in afterbirth appear to have more health, and for me it was the last straw that made me realise I wasn't having fun anymore.

Biggest issue are the new earlygame bosses which, whilst appropriately easy, are oddly tanky. It further forces you to cheese it early on, and as a player that preferred not to scum (nothing wrong with scumming early game mind you, it's basically required for Keeper), I just got fed up of wasting time attacking a bland bossfight.
TL;DR it's not all terrible, dailies are great (although the scoring system is a bit backwards in my opinion), but the additional tedium of some of the new enemies sent me over the edge to finally stop playing.

It's a shame, because I really enjoy that enemy design. A leech that charges in cardinal directions but explodes in diagonal one is a really good design, because it means you have to play chicken with them. But I have no idea why they need to be so tanky.
Same with Rag Man, who for some reason has the same HP as Monstro, despite the fact that he's constantly spawning enemies that you need to control. Pretty good core design, but the numbers are way overboard.

Weird, I honestly thought the new items were some of the most original he has put in the game so far. Multidimensional baby, Continuum, Purity, Eden's Blessing, Night Light, Chaos, Crown of Light, even Incubus or Succubus are great and are an incredible addition to the game. I agree, alt floors are pretty meh (especially the Dank Depths - what's even the point of that?) and I would have loved for the Blue Womb to be an entire new path, but it's not all bad. Greed mode's incredibly fun, Lilith's fun, Keeper's shit, the Lost buff was needed to make him a genuinely fun character, and the Eve nerf works beautifully. The dailies are very fun, and in the rare days where there are special dailies the fun is doubled. It got a hundred of extra hours of gameplay from me, which for that price is a fucking steal.

Also adding to that, the self-sacrifice room buff was HUGELY needed, and the L-shaped and tiny rooms coupled with the hundred new room layouts help give the game some new variety. The new UI is really helpful and having to beat Hush and Mega Satan with every character has been a fun challenge for me. However the unlocks for beating Mega Satan are completely shit, and the unlocks for doing things with the Keeper are trash-tier so there's that.

Azazel is the best character in the game that isn't Isaac w/D6. The fucker can fly, does a ton of damage for the early game, and his range is only an issue if you get a Range Down or two. Even his base range is good enough for quick hit and run strategies. The only real boss he has an issue with is Hush, and that's just the same fight strategy as you would do when fighting Ultra Greed.

I know because while on some broken runs, I can melt mini Hush and then struggle forever vs. Hush

Honestly, I'm pretty good at Isaac (100%'d Rebirth, have yet to have time for Afterbirth though) but Azazel is amongst my worst characters. We're talking Lazarus-tier. I think it's because he plays so differently from all the others, and I find him pretty boring so I'm not as focused.

One thing I saw somebody suggest is to periodically stop attacking Hush, wait, and then drop a single bomb. Supposedly that makes the damage reduction scaling reset and scale to a single bomb's worth of damage, giving you time to hit him with less reduction after he readjusts. Is that true or no?
Also damage reduction is an awful mechanic, in one run I had a Devil card at Hush and had to stop and ask myself it it was going to actually do anything.

Protip, the best amount of Red Hearts to have is either 1 or 0. Typically I prefer 1 Red Heart, as it lets me take larger Devil Deals for cheap. Along with that, you get access to both the regular Arena and the Boss Area rooms, and if you're not terrible at the game, you should have better, if not consistent access to the Devil/Angel rooms due to how their appearance is calculated.
The biggest issue with having just one Red Heart is that people tend to forget how much health they actually have when they hit a Curse of the Unknown. The simplest answer that I have for that is to simply git gud and not get hit.

Hush was going to be an endgame area. As in that's where the game would end and you'd get the credits. That's why there's an ending for when you beat him and the reason the area is kind of fashioned like an end-game starting area (bunch of chests and items). But playtesters disliked that you couldn't have the option to keep going, especially after getting a bunch of new items. So they added in the beam of light/sheol hole.
My guess is that they are going to add a new boss or area after Hush now. One of the blanks on the blog can fit in "new ending" and the only way to have a new ending is for there to be a new boss to fight.

Honestly, Hush should have been a "neutral" end route from Womb 2 down, had some rooms before the boss room and the loot boxes, and a bunch of nightmare creatures and such.
