I get the personal favourite argument and I don't want to defend cs at all, but cs developed over the course of 20+ years and I think it's natural development that some weapons will alway be preferred over others because of their performance. I think it's bullshit too that you can't properly kill people at mid-far distances without m4/ak/snipers, but if it were like red orchestra it wouldn't be as reaction/aiming based. COD is run&gun the game and I haven't touched any battlefield since vietnam, so I can't judge about BF in particular, but I think all the games are properly balanced for the type of game you want to play.
