Google logical increments, look at your price range, then pick all the parts it tells you.
Before putting it together, look at pc building guides on youtube, newegg has the most detailed one.
Open your case, put in the mounting screws on first. This is what your mother board will go on.
Next, put your cpu in your mother board, don't to put in the heat sink fan, it'll just get in the way.
Next, take your mother board with your inserted cpu onto the mounting screws and screw the mother board in.
Take it from there. RMA the parts you think are broken, if your build doesn't work, they will honor refund policies long as you didn't go full retard and do something you weren't supposed to like bending pins, snapping wires and more.

My PC desktop motherboard died on me last august, I bought a motherboard during a newyear special on newegg, it got to me here last week, I set it up and it booted on the first try
My handicap though, is that Im puertorican and OP is probably white.
This is my first build, it was infuriating as fuck, some of the components take such force pop into place, felt like I was breaking shit, at one point I was using the wrong screws and I was going to tear my hair out, but other than that everything went smoothly.
