Scandinavia. Preferrably Norway or at least Denmark. Iceland even. No swedenshit. There are too few games based on their history, and even the few that exist are only loosely based on the viking age and thus not accurate. Imagine a viking game set in Europe, where you sail around and do what the fuck you want.

Ghost hunting game set in Victorian England would be top lols.
Balkans, between 1800 and present time. Would love to experience kebab removal. An open world action game set in the backdrop of the Balkan Wars, or an FPS set during the Yugoslav wars would be epic and a great place to show some of the worst humanity has done.
Also any game set during WW1, Valiant Hearts was excellent, but a more realistic telling of life at that time in maybe a telltale style of game or something would be very cool.

Ancient Rome: There's plenty of strategy games in this setting, but no RPGs or adventure games. Ryse was an absolutely pathetic game and shouldn't count.
Mongol Empire: Anybody who has read the Travels of Marco Polo will know there's a metric fuckload of material to be exploited here. The best we get is Mongol invasions in CK2 and Total War.
Sleeping Dogs was fantastic largely because of the setting.
