I just got back into WoW (lol) since pre-Cata and read up a bit on the lore.
This Gul'dan is the one from Dreanor who escaped Team Rocket style and learned from Gul'dans mistakes from our timeline/universe so he couldn't fuck up. He some how got a new breed of Elves that some how the High Elves, Blood Elves, Night Elves and whatever else fucking Elves forgot to mention to us about the Nightborne who look like a Wildstar creation (seriously Image Related) and Gul'Dan farted around with them and a bunch of other Burning Legion pals and blue a hole in the center of Azeroth that Thrall some how forgot to mention ALSO how none of the ships up to this point have ever come across these islands in the center of the world.
