The thing that bugs me about this is that they're hyping it like it's something to actually be excited about.
If it was a 6th gen 3D remake instead of a port, with all of FireRed/LeafGreen's pleasantries (Sevii Islands, Move tutors, rematches), extended post-game, and a battle facility that is mechanically similar to Pokemon Stadium, then sure, I'd be excited. Maybe throw in a Pokemon Pinball mini-game to replace the game corner slot machines. Give it some of the 6th gen features like Soaring and customization, too.
There'd be adequate content there. I know it's been repeated ad nauseum but there's precisely jack shit on offer here that hasn't been readily available on smartphone emulators for nearly a decade

It also missed the fact that Psychic and Dragon were OP as fuck. Ghost was meant to counter Psychic, but the accidentally made it the opposite somehow. It didn't help the only Ghost types were part Poison as well. It didn't matter anyway since Ghost only had 3 moves, Night Shade, Confuse Ray and Lick. Lick was the only move that could be super effective, CR was a status effect and NS did a set amount of damage.
