Is TW3 combat balanced around using the free shield spell? There doesn't seem to be a disadvantage to using it but I don't like it. But if I don't, group encounters are extremely tedious. Does it stop being used in the late game?

Dark messiah of kicking and magic was surprisingly fun, it felt kind of empty at some points. After using cheats to spawn weapons in I realised there is a huge amount of incomplete content you can spawn in.

I finally played Dragon's Dogma on PC after some faggot on every Witcher thread would not shut up about it's "amazing" combat system..
