I started back into CS:GO but I'm looking for something else. Maybe a good MMO or something I can just waste time in.

For years TF2 was my Friday night time killer. I'd go on my regular servers, with the other regulars and just chat and have fun. None of us took the game seriously, it was just fun to mess around.
I also had Planetside, CS:S, Tribes (not ascend) and WoW as go-to games at separate times.

There is no desire in your life that DOOM cannot fulfill. There are so many mods that DOOM can be literally anything.
Heart Gold mostly.
Mario Kart is also a good fallback, 7 and 8 are pretty good to just play for an hour depending on the situation.
Also, Mario Maker has been a pretty great way to just kill some time. It only needs the second screen so I can watch something while creating levels.

It's fun but at the same time the playthroughs always fall apart near the end since I get too stressed about finding all the hyper emeralds before running out of levels and that's only amplified by how bad I am at doing some of the blue sphere stages at the end.
