PSP did last 10 years and got new games for that duration, even during the late years in 2013/2014 in Japan. 3DS being hacked means I don't have to buy games, simple as that. No other examples could be applicable to the future of 3DS because there's always different circumstances.

It came at the ideal time too. The 3DS is old now, if there was ever a time to bust open the piracy doors, it would be now. It benefits everybody.
3ds' library is so bad that I couldn't convince myself to buy a $60 2ds and have access to all of its games. Let that sink in.

even if it was true, 3DS piracy atm is way more complicated for normies. The DS piracy scene was so huge because you only had to buy a cartridge once and you are settled. No downgrade needed, no installation needed (except maybe putting the card files on the sd) and it could never brick your system. No one except people really into this stuff like some people from 4chan or gbatemp are going to bother with it.
