Yeah, maybe for the first game but I recall him mellowing out pretty fast considering his girl friend fell into a coma and his best friend was more than likely responsible for it.
I know a lot of people consider Vergil as edgy done right but he's just arrogant and backs it up with his actions and some class.

Just a personal opinion, but I always ended up avoiding Legion in NV due to their edgyness until playing through the DLC, HH and LR in particular. I actually took a liking to them (though I obviously don't agree with them) due to some characters providing backstory and reasons for why Legion is the way it is.
Vanilla makes them look so much just cartoonish raiders in football armor while they're originally a collection of quite literal oogabooga tribes fighting with sticks and Caesar unifying / educating them under his rule is actually very reasonable when considering their historical context. You can even inform Arcade of that if you have high enough INT. I really wish the game would have had more tribal shit a la HH to flesh them out more.

Once you beat the game it unlocks an alternate route.
Said alternate route is maximum edge, but it's done well.
The "It's all so fucking hysterical" line from MGS4 was edgy but I love it.
It doesn't get edgier and better than this
