I like the customization/itemization options of Dark Souls 2. You can actually roleplay unique characters/playstyles in it.
As much as /v/ complains when games are shallow its funny how they celebrate when other games are more shallow.
Example: bloodborne.
Then again nobody expects consistency from /v/. If they want to like a game, they will. Even if it has some of the same flaws they claim to hate in other games.

But you could do the same in Dark Souls 1 and it didn't sacrifice the integrity of the series.
Bloodborne has more depth than Dark Souls 2. You might look at the weapon pool and make a knee-jerk accusation of it being shallow, but the combat is the best it's ever been in a souls game.

In terms of lore, it has about as much as any other Souls game, and although the weapon/armor pool may not be deep, the combat is in my opinion a lot more interesting than DkS.
