Sort of, it's mostly just surreal and the how weird it is makes you sort of forget you're beating burn victims to death, or buying from a merchant with someone elses skin stitched to his face.
Having finished both Undertale is the better game. OFF is just generic ATB and every boss is won by inflicting poison then waiting and that shit they pull halfway through world 3 where they remove your ability to run and decrease your walking speed by half almost made my drop the game.
I played both and enjoyed them in their own ways. I hope that other people are able to enjoy more than one single game as well.

OFF's story has no emotional investment whatsoever. The game takes special pains to separate me as a player from my avatar, The Batter. It then proceeds to railroad me through The Batter's quest, taking no input from me except helping The Batter progress. At the end, the game guilt trips me for what The Batter has done, (even though there was nothing I could do to stop him except stop playing the game) and then gives me a "moral choice" so inconsequential that it makes Mass Effect 3's ending look good in comparison.
My favorite part was when The Judge, the first character to directly address me as the player and one of the few characters to acknowledge that I was the one controlling The Batter, PHYSICALLY THREATENED me after he was done trying to guilt me before the final battle. It was probably an issue with the translation, but boy did it look pathetic.

Undertale's fanbase fucked everything up pretty badly, especially by shoving Hopes and Dreams in everyone's face.
OFF's Puzzles are a pain in the ass, and you WILL need a walkthrough for it.
But both games aren't terrible, nor amazing.

Kinda, the whole point was that you basicaly just lost yourself in your job of purificating everything and with time Batter just stops caring about everyone and starts fucking up even those who weren't a threat.
Though this is my interpretation and I feel like the game was made this way so everyone can think about the story for themselves and have their own interpretations of what the fuck is happening.
But yeah, it can be edgy, especialy by the end of the game.

I only played off for an hour and a half but the combat was so unbearably shit it made me drop it. I'll never understand why people feel the need to add shitty RPG Maker combat to their 2deep4u walking simulators so they can pretend it's a game, or why people defend them.
