Cell's regeneration is the only one that makes sense but that still doesn't stop it from being awful lazy writing because Toriyama couldn't be bothered to give his villains some new and interesting abilities, instead recycling stuff from before.
The 5 minutes thing was an estimate. There was no way Freeza would know how long it would take the planet's core to destabilize and destroy the planet.
Since this is a dragon ball thread can we talk about xenoverse? i got it on sale for ps4 a few weeks ago and i really enjoy it. it has some flaws but i don't think it warrented the low reviews it received. i seriously hope they come out with a xenoverse 2. ideally it'd have 150+ characters like BT3. also i wish there were tail options for the saiyan race because ottherwise their appearances looked the exact same as humans just with different stats

Lazy is a bit harsh. DBZ is simple storytelling but I don't think I could call Piccolo, Vegeta and Freeza lazily written. Cell was more straight forward, but even he had his twists and turns that elevate him out of lazy.
Buu saga stuff... well, that's different. Toriyama was clearly past caring by that point.
