So I'm looking for a good shooter to play, and was hoping for some recommendations.
Criteria:
>PC
>Multiplayer
>Not too twitchy
>Decently active community (cheaters get kicked, can always find a good number of full servers, etc.)
I guess that's mostly it. Just want something fun that isn't necessarily easy, but such that intelligence is as important as pure skill, since I play with non-tryhard hardware (3 button mouse, wireless keyboard, etc.) I play CoD4 sometimes, but looking for something new and preferably not a modern military shooter.
I wouldn't mind non-shooter recommendations either, if you have some.

I'd say Squad. As Arma 3 has turned into a RP-mod shithole for teenagers. It's fun but its definitely a challenge. I'd say more tactical than 98 percent of the shooters out today

I'd say that Red Orchestra 2 will float your boat well. It's not as much about reaction times as it is about well placed positions and cunning, and well placed shots. You can call me casual all you want, but I find sniping in RO2 pretty hard and just stick to scope-less rifles.

Fistful of Frags is pretty fun and different than most shooters, the community isn't huge but it's big enough to find some good matches.
I got banned from the =|FF|= CoD4 servers for "talking back" to mods. They increased a temp ban to a permanent ban.

Because scopes in RO2 make another independent 1024x1024 resolution picture when in use, causing obvious FPS drop.
I used to play on 1024x768 resolution on my old laptop. Scope had better resolution than game itself.

You're most definitely not casual for finding sniping in RO2 hard. With over 300 hours I hardly touch sniper. Mainly because it's always taken, but also I can just snipe with a bolt action instead. Hitting targets in this game is the most satisfying though, since it's actual projectile.

Dude play Red Orchestra 2/ Rising Storm. One of the best FPS I've ever played. It's not for everyone and you will die a LOT when you first start, but if you're into those kind of games it's really, really good.

The game is free, but the only real downside is that you'll get retards on your team in pubs, but as long as you get to decent level of compet you won't run into any. Also some retards on either team just make it more like a MOBA.
The best DPS and Medic characters are unlocked from the start, and you'll be able to afford a new character after a good hour of playing.
Plus free rotations of all the characters periodicity.
As I said, personally I think it's the best F2P model.

Is MGO good? I already have MGSV and like the idea of multiplayer, but it seems dead on console and will probably be even more dead on PC if it ever actually comes out, which it is fucking supposed to this month. Sounded really unbalanced and I'm sure cheaters will quickly kill if there isn't anti-cheat or dedicated servers with admins to clean up.
