Nintendo fans are rabid and retarded. Bayonetta 2 is still easily found at any retail for 60 dollars.

Also the Canadian dollar is shit right now, so expect it to reach 1990s price points of +100 dollars a game.

I remember paying $90 for Phantasy Star 2 on SEGA genesis at toys R us in the 90s. That's like $150 in modern money, & that was new on the shelf.

>Silly Sonygger logic thinking that all games need to be 75% off a month after release because they have no long term value.
I don't think that's what OP is complaining about. He's not complaining about paying full price, he's complaining that Nintendo games are under supplied and scalpers buy them up to sell at 2-3x the full price.

Games being full price 1, 2, or even 3 years later is no issues. Games being twice their initial price only 6 months later is bullshit, no defending it.

But you can't stop defending it, people like >>323512676 will always be there to make silly excuses for shit like this.
>>
Nintendo is notorious for almost never dropping the price of their games, and NoA I n particular is notorious for understocking just about everything.
>>
>>323512393

Why even defend this? Nintendo doesn't even remotely gain from NoA's understocking, only scalpers do.

If you're so loyal to Nintendo you should stop enabling this and make noise about wanting more stock for them to sell and profit off of.

>>323512930

Yup, exactly this. Can't wait for Amazon to get new copies of the Metroid Prime Trilogy and Xenoblade Chronicles. Then the prices will go back down.

Are you seriously defending the under supplying of games? If you think that waiting a year to resupply is suitable, then youre playing ignorant. You, as a consumer, are complaining that other companies are ensuring their product becomes affordable.
You. The one who pays.
They dont get any extra money for under supplying, in fact they lose out. After a year, the demand will go down.

Its genuinely sad that this is defended.
>>
>plenty of Bayo 2 copies sit on store shelves for a year
>no reason to make any more
>Smash bandwagon comes along and buys all of the copies
>WHAT THE FUCK NINTENDO

>>
>>323513672
There's plenty of reasons to not buy a game for a year. Maybe OP is only just now buying a Wii U and wants to get Bayo 2 for it.

Nintendo discourages new customers and then wonders why they don't get any.
>>
>>323505893

>>
>>323506245
Wow I wasn't aware I own so many rare games
>>
>>323513613
Yes, I'm okay with my copy of the game not losing value within a year

I mean if I buy a halo game, I know it'll be worthless before the generation is over. If I buy a nintendo game, at it's worst will lose 30% of it's value.

I would only care if it inconvinced me, which it doesn't because nintendo games are typically always instock within release + before christmas. I don't think I've run into an issue buying a nintendo game since brawl. I care even less because I can just buy digital.
>>
>>323514279
>Yes, I'm okay with my copy of the game not losing value within a year
It doesn't have to lose value. Nobody is saying it should be $15. Just not $100 after a year.

How can you defend this? Aside from you being a scalper who just wants to make money.

Seriously this.

I bought an N3DS when they launched and it was my first 3DS.
I'd hoped to pick up some launch 3DS titles and catch up on what I missed, hopefully get a good deal on price now they're years old, only to find they're even more expensive now than before.

£50-£60 for OoT 3D. I ended up buying it on the eShop for £36, which is still ridiculous.
No other company does this. PS4 and XBONE titles older than a few months drop down to £20 on Amazon, and even on PSN & XBL launch titles are discounted to around that price too.

Honestly, fuck Nintendo prices.
They've only got themselves to blame for the state they're in.

Bayonetta isn't a launch title.

>>
>>323517273

>>

They stay that price because enough people will pay it and they make profit from doing so.

>I meant to clarify; Nintendo games rarely, if ever, decreasing in price
Because Nintendo games are rarely resold.
>>
>ITT WHY IS BASIC ECONOMICS SO UNFAIR
>>
>>323517523
Clearly not, because Nintendo have less sales and less customers than other platforms.

One could make the argument that Nintendo's high prices and reluctance to reduce price on titles over time turns away potential customers.
>>
>>323517486
They have nothing to do with resellers.
The price hardly changes because the demand for Nintendo games almost never dimishes.

the point is that nintendo printed a handful of copies of bayonetta 2 at launch and no more.

they then announced bayonetta in smash bros (advertisement for the game) but decided to not take advantage of this surge of interest and print more copies.

thus bayonetta 2 price skyrockets.

First party Nintendo content usually outsells Sony/MS first party stuff while staying at or near its launch price. This is why Nintendo gives minimal fucks about third parties appearing on their console: the profit they gain from the licenses on third party content is not as lucrative as the share of money they get from their own.

I mean obviously they'd prefer getting both in an ideal setup along with high console sales, but still. Their strategy means no disappointment/massive losses if a game "only" sells a few million like a Capcom or SE title, same with their hardware.

You mean that one fucking IGN review that has gone down in history as possibly the single worst one in the site's history?

well, usually when they do decrease in prices they re-print them as "best seller editions" or something, at least that happened in the Wii and Gamecube's lifetime with 1st party titels...

They've always been like this, why do you think they never drop from MSRP price?

Must suck not being able to keep your shit clean but I play online on my PS2 nearly every day.

Also the vast majority of the PS2 library is available elsewhere, the exceptions to this rule are very small.

I'm pissed there isn't enough of Fire Emblem Fates, either that or some scalper bought a fuck ton.

Nintendo knows America loves Fire Emblem since we helped save the series. Make more limited editions!

Literally pulled that out of your ass. They undr supply their games. Thats a given fact thats universally known. They retain their value due to this.

If otherwise, you give me a reason why they retain their value? Without resorting to
>Muh game quality
And give a genuine reason.

Nintendo have just as much money as other competitors, they certainley can produce just as many copies as them. Its not acceptable to reprint games after a year, thats when people forget about those games.

I dont get how people can even stick up for the digital argument for Nintendo, again, i dont want to pay £50 for a game, when I can get a retail copy for £40.
Yeah its the same on Xbox and PS4, but at least you can get hold of a physical copy without paying outrageous prices.
