After Telos it gets really good. I know that's a shitty thing to say but the planets you can visit in KOTOR 2 are great.
Nar Shaddaa is GOAT seedy underbelly bounty hunting goodness. Dxun is 10/10 broing it up in the jungle with Mandalorians. It's really a solid game.

What i usually do is that i get as much XP before the planet surface part so my characters are strong and I just plow through the rest of the game from there very fast, so telos surface is no more boring than, say, dantooine plains and academy

Except it actually is. LucasArts rushed the game for Christmas so much they just didn't even have time to script scenes for lines that were already recorded. Obisidan didn't do it on a whim, they simply weren't given enough time to do what they had planned to. It's all in the game files - the sound files and dialog.tlk

well I did finish him after a tense couple seconds where he caught up to me setting up the second mine. Don't have the energy shields or the armor to finish off Twitch yet. I do remember Starkiller tanked grenades. So I'm going to wait until Twitch is beat before I buy a shit ton of grenades at discount price from the Weapons mercantile in front of the Cantina. I'm three hours in, but I'm sure the thing slowing me down the hardest is Pazaak. I liked it so much better in Kotor 2

I'm currently replaying KOTOR 1 too but I'm a lot farther than you right now. Yeah, Bendak spams grenades and if you get too close he'll bring out his vibroblade and push your shit in with power attack. I just traded grenades with him until he died, I found plasma worked the best.

There's that assault droid with the shield, he can be a pain in the ass. Also the Sith governor with his melee damage. Otherwise you can clear a bunch of enemies by hacking terminals and exploding conduits.
