I have a ps4 and a midrange pc (gtx 760, i5), what will give me the superior dark souls experience? The pc version is pretty much confirmed 30fps capped, right, so aside from antialiasing and bullshit reshades there'll be graphical parity we can assume.
The ps4 version has the advantages of: big TV+good sound system+comfy couch (immersion), all my dark souls buddies play on playstation for that sweet co op action, already have PS+ so paying for online isn't an issue
Pc on the other hand will at least average close to 30fps instead of the 25 or so ps4 will average, have marginally better graphics, is cheaper and has potential for a 60fps mod which would be pretty significant (would this even run above 30 on a 760?). Online will be partially ruined by hackers though like DaS2. I'm not a fan of paying games at my desk on my office chair with a small monitor but if the pc version is likely to be significantly better, I'll consider it (maybe even just move my computer out to my TV for a few weeks)
Basically how likely do you think the pc version will be 60fps, and is it likely that'll even run on a 760? Not baiting, pls this is an idort thread

As someone who only owns an Xbox, you probably want to get it on PC if you have a good one, I'm sure it'll be 60 FPS for PC, as everyone rubs off to 60 FPS so often nowdays developers tend to actually dumb down graphics to keep the framerate.. I was just saying that SotFS has gotten me used to 60fps souls games, it was hard going back to bloodborne for the dlc after that (you get used to it). I'm aware it won't be 60fps on consoles, I've played the demo at an event and it was roughly bloodborne's framerate.
I was under the impression there was strong evidence it will be capped at 30fps on PC as well, not sure what my source was for that though. Wasn't DaS2 on pc handled by a different porting team and came out months later than the console versions? Yes DaS2 was 60fps on pc but so was the ps4 version, and yet bloodborne is still about 25fps on ps4. This looks very graphically similar to bloodborne and it wouldn't surprise me if it was the same engine. The bloodborne engine was based of the DaS1 engine from memory and has physics, etc, tied in to framerate just like DaS1. DaS2 pc was ported by a largely different coding team and the pc version came out several months later after the console versions, whereas in this case they all seem to be handled by the one developer and coming out at the same time. Also ps4 seems to be the lead developed platform here (assuming from from's closeness with sony, all demos so far have been the ps4 version, all trailers and screenshots seem to be from the ps4 version) so I'd assume they'd aim for graphical parity between the platforms
I just feel like they'd be showing the trailers in 60fps and would have said something about the pc version by now if it wasn't capped at 30. But there's not much evidence beyond what I just posted, so here's hoping I guess. Any proof beyond Das2 being 60fps that this will be?

I don't see why this is an issue. Most people don't even notice if the framerate in a game is 60, 30 or 20. It's just another reason to complain. Internet hate culture is really starting to annoy me. It's like how people complained about Fallout 4 frametate. Do you know how big Fallout 4 is? You can enter a ton of houses. No loading screens. I'm not surprised the framerate dips a little under 30 on consoles. This game is even bigger than Skyrim. At least give it a chance.
This obsession with framerate in a game is getting out of hand. You have developers like Miyazaki openly stating they don't give a fuck about frames per second, but people still complain. Remember Blighttown? The framerate changed that entire area. It added to the challenge. It was a clever way to manipulate the technology and use it to change the rules. But do you think people appreciated it? Naw, they'd rather complain. On PC, people even went as far as casualizing that entire area by making it run at 60 frames per second.
Honestly, people don't really care about the framerate. If it was 60, they'd find another reason to complain. I bet most of you won't even play it on PS4, so why complain? Just play it on pc and install one of those japanese waifu mods and change all the enemies into pikachus or something. jesus christ...

I'm in the same situation, OP, except I have a better graphics card so I don't really worry much about performance, except the usual bad PC port gripes.
I really wish From would say whether PC version is capped at 30 or 60 FPS.
Bloodborne has a lot of FPS dips and it makes the game harder in some parts, because it's hard to time the iframes when you roll to correctly avoid damage.
On the other hand, I'm a bit worried about hackers on the PC version.
Dont have a problem with 30fps as long as it never drops from there. I loved Bloodborne but the unstable FPS, lack of AA and Chromatic cancer really bothered me.
