Plus here in the Midlands, UK, PS4 games are on sale a lot more frequently than XBone games... and in higher numbers too.

I bought one a couple months ago. Forza horizon 2 is probably the best racing game I've ever played, but I'm not a huge fan of racing games.
Sunset overdrive is great, and I also loved alien isolation, it's multiplat though.

The PC is objectively the most powerful option and you get what you pay for. Building one is not for everybody, but if you have the ability, I'd recommend it.

OP here. I haven't bought any new games in about 6 years. Played GTA and skyrim for 360 a bit. I'm looking for something to pick up and play with my GF, a multiplayer shooter (probably Halo MCC) and a more expansive single player game (Witcher 3 looked interesting)
Xbox wouldn't be a bad choice if you don't care about exclusives.
Any company that's losing to a competitor will always be more pro consumer than a company who doesn't have to try and win people over.

It's worth the price of admission for that price, even if the humor can be hit or miss.

It's kind of a horde mode-ish type thing, but with a mix of side missions meant to be completed with a group. I played about an hour, but the MP is pretty much dead.

PS4s cost around $500, new games are $79.99, and I'm going to be using this PC for work as well as other hobbies like animating, drawing, coding and whatnot.
I overspent a bit on the PSU, case and SSD, but overall this is a much better purchase than a PS4 would have been, especially since I won't have to pay to use my own internet.

GTA V and COD:BO3 are the most played games you will run into multiplayer wise. Also, a good Forza title is a must have if you are into racing. 6 is the best, 5 has the most civilized multiplayer, and horizon is more arcadey open world.

Online should be free, and PS+ should be a side service that offers deals and free shit. Hell, they could even just throw some ads on the 'free' version of the PSN store to make up for the 'lost revenue', I'm sure people would a lot happier to have the option to play for free at the cost of a few perks and some annoying ads.
I mean, there really is no reason why they need to charge for online, and if either the Xbone or PS4 suddenly offered free online again, it'd have a massive advantage over the one that doesn't.

I'll be pretty fine for a while with games, and even if Zelda and Starfox are all the Wii U gets this yearwhich I really doubt, I'm sure we'll get more reveals for upcoming games soon enough, thats more than enough to keep me busy just on the Wii U.

The nights that I'm not playing Smash I'm most likely playing stuff like Tabletop simulator, some cRPG, or something else on PC with buddies. We switch it up a lot, but the Wii U gets plenty of use.
I don't really like FPS games since they're all very samey though, so I probably wouldn't play halo at all even if I had an Xbox or it was available on PC

Would your friends be expecting you to play online multiplayer with them? If so, you're better off getting a PS4 for that. If not, take a look at the exclusives for each and make your decision based on that.
Personally, I went with xbone since few of my friends have PS4s, we all do local multiplayer for the most part anyway, and since I missed most of the Halo series despite my friends raving about it it gave me the chance to pick up that and Rare Replay.

Get an external USB HD to install all your games. Atleast 2TB. It runs much better having all the games on one drive and the OS and apps on the other. Also, having all your games installed ready to go all the time is really nice as you can't run them with out them being downloaded or installed.
