The Team Silent consisted of total of around 20-30 people in whole, and the development of SH3 started before 2 was even completed. They were some truly devoted detail-maniacs, and workaholics as well.

Team Silent, a team made out of underachieving Konami employees dumped together and told to make a horror game to compete with RE made one of the most original horror series that actually rival and perhaps surpass Resident Evil.
One guy made all the CG cutscenes in SH staying up late and sleeping in his office using the power of multiple computers while Konami refused to let this guy be credited.
This is what pure passion looks like. It's just such an inspiring story. Saddening we don't see much of this anymore given the state of the industry now.

I shouldn't have been surprised but I was. Seems they were always a scummy company to work with even back then. SH should've never been this good. It would've been doomed or maybe even scrapped if Team Silent never showed their initiative and went their own direction.
Only equivalent of Team Silent nowadays is From Software if you ask me . Dev teams like them are few and far between.

I've only played SH1(good and bad endings achieved) and am currently playing SH2(just got out of the Hospital), these games are fucking amazing!
But there's one thing that is bothering me with SH2.
Am I supposed to use the joystick or the d-pad? Because the d-pad feels way easier to controll than the joystick, but usually that's not the case for PS2 games.

The amount of work and research these guys put into understanding Western culture and architecture is really outstanding. You don't really see that kind of conviction in modern dev teams these days.

I bought the HD Collection for PC, never read the reviews for it so didn't know if it was good or bad, but goddamn did they mess up!
Movememt was stuttering and was unplayable. Like, you couldn't move forward consistently no matter what options and control schemes I used. I didn't even know it was that possible to fuck up.

fog is slightly altered but odds are you don't even notice the difference. It's nowhere near as bad as the HD collection. Graphics and lighting are generally improved. Also SH3 supports 60 fps. SH2 can be modded to run at 60fps but its a little buggy last time I tried.
