Of course it's dead. PC fats can't into fighters and the competition was nonexistent on PC. I took my week 2 Venom out on the PC release and went like 160-5 before uninstalling, getting bored of stomping a sea of Leos and waifu fags that literally couldn't pull off basic strings. Hopped back onto PS that night.

It was a big deal here that this game was releasing on PC for about a week because people wanted that pretty former console/arcade exclusive anime game with cute girls. They do not care about becoming competitive. Find a dedicated fighting game community and improve, don't rely on random /v/ lobbies.

Xrd will probably continue to drop until it stabilizes somewhere around ~250 players. In comparison, USF4 is on its way out and still manages ~1500.

Problem once again is the fact that its the old version. Revelator might only come out in March, but most people cant be asked to play Sign when its going to be outdated in a mere 3 months. Thats how most people think. If Revelator was announced for PC then Signs numbers would be way higher. But it isnt and no one expects it before 2017 or the end of 2016, by which time Arc probably has announced the new game already.

It has nothing to do with that but the fact that the genre is niche. FPS, RTS and MOBA face the same issues. But the communities are big enough to compensate for it. There are enough noobs and bad players to keep each other interested. Meanwhile fighting games are so dead that even in a game like SF you have trouble finding actual newbies.

I've met a lot of people in the GG scene and I haven't met anyone that trashes new players for just being new. People are willing to help others so long as they are willing to learn. If you talk shit about others without backing it up with the necessary skill or blame the game for your own shortcomings, of course you can expect to get shit on and you have nobody to blame but yourself.

Mappa, dash forward, 5K, IAD. I'm sure you've tried all of these and are not always successful. Remember that neutral is always a RPS game as well. You need to predict what your opponent will do to the threat of your approach. And don't forget that a HUGE factor in footsies is timing. You need to shift timings of your own options so that your opponent ends up whiffing a button or pressing one too late.
