It's worth it if you like getting all the collectables/unlocking all the secret stages, and is quite enjoyable if you have someone to co-op with. If you only plan to only finish the main plot and be done with it, i'd skip out on it and hope for a price drop.

It was my GOTY desu
Playing it right now and just finished world 3. It's a cute game and everything flows together so nicely, with decent difficulty and replayability.
There's something off about it though. It somehow feels more tame than its predecessors.
