The only real downside is the annoying 3rd person perspective, but otherwise I'm pretty much immortal, don't need to eat anything and since mechanically you gain souls every time something in your area dies (even if you did not in fact kill it), I'm going to acquire a lot of power almost instantly, since every moment someone or something dies on Earth, and our planet is not separated into distinctive areas. That is, of course, assuming that the concept of soul exists in our universe, but even if not, infinite respawns are good enough on their own.
